USTA League Tennis is the nation’s largest recreational tennis league, offering organized and structured team play for men and women of all ability levels. Teams are formed using the National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP), ensuring players compete against others with similar skill levels for fair and competitive matches.
Here in Western North Carolina—one of the largest geographic areas in the state—we have active teams forming in Asheville, Hendersonville, Black Mountain, Brevard, Forest City, and beyond.
All USTA League players must be 18 or older, have a valid NTRP rating in TennisLink, and a current USTA membership to participate.
All first-time players must complete a simple self-rating, which places you at the right level so you can compete with players of similar skill. Once you’re rated, you’re ready to join a team and jump into league play!
Best part? The self-rate process costs nothing. Get rated. Get placed. Get playing! It’s quick, easy, and free!

An active USTA membership is required for the entire league season.
Membership fees support the growth of tennis at all levels - funding youth programs, courts, leagues, and tournaments - while also providing member benefits such as discounts and event access. As a nonprofit, the USTA reinvests all proceeds back into the sport.
