How to Enter Scores VIDEO
Who Enters the Score?
The winning captain is responsible for entering the match score within 48 hours of the match’s conclusion. If the score is not posted within that timeframe, the losing captain may enter it. If scores remain unposted at the end of the season, the Local League Coordinator may determine the league winner based on the information available.
Note: It is strongly recommended that both team captains retain a hard copy of the match scorecard throughout the season in case any discrepancies arise.
What if Lines Are Not Played at the Same Time?
Scores should be entered only after all lines of the team match have been completed. Scores for individual lines may not be entered until the entire team match is finished. Use the date the final line was played as the match completion date.
How Are Scores Entered?
Select players from the drop-down menu for each team. Click the WINNER button for each court. When entering from the computer, always enter the winning team’s scores first for each court.
How Do You Enter a Third-Set Tie-Break?
Record a third-set tiebreak as 1–0. For example, if a team lost the first set, won the second set, and then won the third-set tiebreak, the score should be entered as 2–6, 6–4, 1–0.
How Do You Enter Scores When a Player Retires?
If a player retires during a match, record the score as it stood at the time of retirement from the non-retiring player(s)’ perspective. Then select “Retire” from the pull-down menu to the right of the scores. A retirement counts toward qualification for all players.
How Do You Enter Scores for a Forfeited Line?
For a forfeited court, enter only the names of the winning players and leave the forfeiting team’s names blank. Record the score as 6–0, 6–0, click the winner circle below the winning players’ names, and then select “Default” from the pull-down menu. A defaulted match counts only toward the qualification of the player(s) receiving the default.
How Do You Dispute a Score?
Only a captain may dispute a score. If you disagree with a recorded score, click “Dispute” and email the Local League Coordinator and the opposing captain with an explanation of the issue.
Note: It is strongly recommended that both team captains retain a hard copy of the match scorecard throughout the season in case any discrepancies arise.
How Do You Correct an Error in the Score or Player Name?
Once submitted, scorecards cannot be edited by captains or players. Any score or name corrections must be reported by email to the Local League Coordinator and the opposing captain as soon as possible after the match. Every effort should be made to correct scorecards within 48 hours. If an error is entered incorrectly and both teams agree, it may be corrected for rating purposes before the end of the league season.
What if You Receive an Error Message When Entering Scores?
If you encounter an error message, confirm that all third-set tiebreak scores are entered as 1–0 and that scores are recorded from the winning player’s perspective (e.g., 6–4, 6–3, not 4–6, 3–6). If the issue persists, email a screenshot of the error message to the Local League Coordinator.
