Bird at the Feeder
There is a bird at the feeder outside
my cat watches intently from the window
She wishes she was outside too
I watch her
she is adorable pawing at the window
her tail twitching
She loves birds
and how they fly
And dad looks at me, as I look at her.
He has watched me grow from a small child into a woman
I hope that he is proud.
And... God watches as my father is watching me in his last days all of us together for a short time. and I wonder what God thinks.

William Rhodes: Cartooning as a recovery device. During a group earlier this year a topic was brought up about doing something for 30 days to set a pattern for the rest of your life. I determined that day to start drawing a cartoon of my dog Hank and his friend a boat tailed grackle named boats. Since March of 2022 until now I have drawn a cartoon every day. it gives me great pleasure to have something with a deadline and something creative to come up with a different look and joke every day. Hank and boats have traveled back in time to meet dinosaurs they've traveled to the beach they've traveled to the desert they've met boats' parents they've been indoors and outdoors. I like the freedom of being able to put them in any time or place or situation. I'm new at drawing having just started last year late last year late 2021 and in the time I've been doing it has found I found the process very meditative. I especially find doing detail work on fur and leaves on trees to calm me and concentrate my mind.
