The purpose of the collection will be to support the principal mission of the centre. As such, the condition for items to be acquired by the centre is that they must be related to the Piper family as well as rare and unique collections that support Welladonna’s management, research, and services. The collection will also hold reference works that facilitate research and development in the pharmacology field and may be consulted by members of the Archives, as well as the general public.
Once the Centre has been established, it will accept donations of materials that enhance our collections by supporting identified research and historical documentation. The following criteria will be used to evaluate donated materials: scope of the collection, physical condition, and duplication. Donated materials become the property of the Welladonna Medical & Pharmaceutical Archival Centre upon acceptance of these materials. Donated materials that are not added to the collection are donated to other repositories, sold, or discarded. Unless otherwise agreed upon, the disposition of all donated materials will be at the sole discretion of the Centre. The Centre cannot provide donors with a monetary appraisal of donated materials.
