WMPAC is committed to the protection of all its patrons’ rights to privacy with respect to their use of the archives resources.
This policy applies to all community members, as well as medical scholars, administrative staff, and authorized archives personnel.
It is the policy and practice of the Welladonna Medical & Pharmaceutical Archival Centre that personally identifiable information collected by any staff relating to an individual patron’s use of the archive collections and/or services will be kept confidential. Information may be used internally by employees as needed for the operation of the archive, however it will not be disclosed to third parties without the express written permission of the patron or following a lawfully issued court order.
This policy has been adapted to align with the principles of the Canadian Library Association (CLA) Code of Ethics Position Statement, which endorses the confidentiality of patron records.
