Committee Chairs Needed for 2026

Thank you to all parents who have volunteered as committee chairs for the 2026 Season!!

Parents with students who are new to the band this year: There is NO better way to get to know the program and other parents than by volunteering to help with a committee! Take this first year to see what everything is all about and sign up for individual volunteer opportunities when they are sent out, then we would love to have you help run a committee next year when we have senior parents who will be leaving some positions! (Or jump right in if you are ready to help even more and we can train you to take over a committee right away!)

Open Board/Committee Chair Positions for 2026:

Committee Chair or Co-Chairs needed for our 2026 Golf Outing!

Are you a golfer or enjoy planning events? We are looking for a parent/parents to set up our Golf Outing Fundraiser In June 2026. We have lots of resources to provide to you from previous years.
The job entails setting a date with a course, advertising to find golfers, soliciting business sponsorships, running the event the day of (with support from other parents!)

Committee Chair needed for our 2026 Mattress Fundraiser!

Our Mattress Fundraiser is set for Sunday, June 7th. We are in need of a chairperson to be in charge of sending out communications/advertisements received from the mattress company, setting up banners to advertise, and setting up approximately 15 student volunteers and 6 parent volunteers on the day of the event to be out near the street flaggin down traffic to stop by the sale. No set up or heavy lifting needed - the mattress company does all of the real work!

Photographer for WLMB take over as chair in 2026

Our WLMB photographer, Katie Hutchinson, has seniors this year. We are in need of someone to take over for her in 2026 to take photos and post them on our SmugMug website. :)

Senior Parent Liaison

We are in need of a senior parent who can be the coordinator and communicator to other senior parents. This person would communicate Information about special senior events and needs, and would facilitate finding other senior parent volunteers to run the senior breakfast, plan with the seniors to design a senior t-shirt, and plan with the seniors for senior gifts for the staff.

Charity Poker Chairperson (or co-chairs)

We need a WLW parent to be trained to organize our WLMB & WLW Charity Poker Events for the year. This job includes coordinating with the poker room to choose available weeks, submitting paperwork to the state before and after the events, arranging for volunteers to be at the poker room. No knowledge of poker required! The poker company does all of the poker work! Our volunteers are there to just handle the money by selling and redeeming poker chips.

Daily 3 Raffle Chairperson (or co-chairs)

We are in need of a parent to be in charge of our Daily 3 Raffle that runs from mid-September through mid-October with drawings daily in November. We have all of the info and paperwork that you will need to run this, we just need someone who is able to prepare and distribute tickets to all students, and then be at the end of rehearsal about once a week during the selling period to collect raffle tickets. This person will also report the winners each night in November and do a physical drawing from the tickets if no number wins from the Daily 3 that night.

Competition Snack Coordinator

We are looking for someone to be in charge of purchasing and arranging snacks for the bus rides home from competitions. A budget is provided. :)

Photographer for WLW band events!

We are in need of a photographer for Western football games and concerts for the rest of this 25-26 school year & beyond!

WLC Football Dinner Coordinator

We need a WLC parent to be In charge of ordering pizza and organizing volunteers to serve dinner to WLC Spirit Band students on Football game nights. Students eat around 4/4:30pm.

2026 Parent Volunteer Sign-Ups!

Throughout the season, we will have MANY needs for parent volunteers, from chaperoning rehearsals and home camp, to serving meals to the students during rehearsals, to chaperoning at competitions. Be on the lookout for volunteer requests in our weekly Band Buzz emails each week throughout the season!
