Frequently Asked Questions

Plan your visit

Everyone is welcome at the puja. You do not need to be Bengali or know anyone, and no one is turned away from the puja itself. Meal registration helps our volunteer kitchen team count plates and plan portions; children under five attend free.

Weekend highlights: Dhunuchi Naach is on Saturday, October 17. The cultural program is on Sunday, October 18. Exact times for both will be announced.

Please follow the volunteer team’s directions and help us care for the shared venue.

How do I volunteer?

Complete the 2026 volunteer sign-up form with your name, email, preferred teams, and availability. The WLDA organizers will coordinate assignments with you.

Event registration is separate: register for Durga Puja 2026 on Zeffy.

When and where is Durga Puja?

October 17–18, 2026 at 1210 Montgomery St, West Lafayette, IN 47906.

Saturday dinner is at a separate venue: Purdue Global, 2550 Northwestern Ave, from 7:00–8:30 pm. All other meals are served at 1210 Montgomery St.

What should I know about the venue?

Children should stay with a parent or accompanying adult. Please keep play away from the puja area and follow the volunteer team’s directions.

Use only the event’s designated spaces. Please leave temple items in place and return chairs and tables to their original positions before leaving.

Follow posted parking signs and instructions from the organizers.

For an emergency, call 911 and alert an organizer. For other concerns, speak with the volunteer team.

When are prasad and meals served?

Saturday, October 17: prasad at 11:45 am, lunch from 12:30–1:30 pm, snacks at 4:30 pm, and dinner from 7:00–8:30 pm.

Sunday, October 18: prasad at 11:30 am, lunch from noon–2:00 pm, and prasad and snacks at 5:00 pm.

See Durga Puja Schedule for the full program and Food Menu for the dishes. All times are local to West Lafayette and subject to updates.

How should I dispose of plates and leftovers?

Use the designated waste containers inside the hall. Empty leftover drinks into a sink rather than a trash can, and follow the volunteers’ directions for disposing of food and plates.

How do I register and receive my ticket?

Choose your 2026 tickets and register on Zeffy, or use the embedded form on the Registration page. Follow the checkout instructions and keep your confirmation for the event.

How can I help with the puja?

Join a volunteer team, help with preparations or cleanup, and take part in the celebration. You can also support WLDA with a donation when registering on Zeffy.
