ওয়েস্ট লাফিয়েৎ দুর্গাপূজা · West Lafayette Durgapuja
The West Lafayette Durgapuja Association is a volunteer-run, non-profit community group. With no permanent hall or paid staff, the puja comes together through shared spaces, home kitchens, rehearsed dances, and a great deal of weekend work.
Around 2007 — the first puja was organized by the West Lafayette Bengali Association. Students, families, faculty, and friends have kept the tradition growing ever since.
Today, every contribution matters: cooking bhog, making sandesh, arranging flowers, setting the stage, welcoming newcomers, or staying to clean up.
Bengali life in Greater Lafayette continues throughout the year. Dates and details will be added as community gatherings are confirmed.
বিজয়া দশমী · Bijoya Dashomi
Mishti, kolakuli, and time with friends after puja. Separate community gathering: TBD. Our puja-weekend Bijoya observance is on Sunday, October 18.
লক্ষ্মী পূজা · Lakshmi Puja
The weekend after our Durga Puja celebration — October 24, 2026. Come together again for Lakshmi Pujo.
Exact day, time, and venue: TBD.
সরস্বতী পূজা · Saraswati Puja
Usually in late January or February: morning anjali, khichuri, and a chance to come together again.
পয়লা বৈশাখ · Poila Boishakh
Bengali New Year, around mid-April. Community celebrations often include a potluck and an open-mic evening.
You do not need to be Bengali or know anyone. Join a volunteer team, meet your neighbors, and help make this year’s pujo feel like home.
