In April of 2022, Dr. Teeters received an R15 grant from the National Institute of Drug Abuse for a mobile phone-based intervention. Data collection has recently concluded and study outcomes will be published soon.
Dr. Teeters was recently awarded KY-INBRE funding to examine existing R15 text-messaging transcripts to conduct a quantitative linguistic analysis of text-messaging data.
Dr. Teeters and undergraduate lab member Alejandro Ramirez were awarded a KY-INBRE Student Development Research Award in May, 2025. This project titled, Understanding Risks of Intoxicating Hemp-Derived Products: Examining Use, Expectancies, and Driving Impairment among Young Adults, examines the rising use of intoxicating hemp-derived products (IHDPs) among young adults, focusing on use patterns, expectancies, adverse reactions, and impaired driving behaviors.
