Dr. Teeters is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychological Sciences at Western Kentucky University (WKU), a licensed clinical psychologist, and the Principal Investigator for the TECH Lab. She earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Memphis in 2017 and completed her internship at the Medical University of South Carolina. Her research focuses on substance use prevention and intervention, with a particular interest in using cutting-edge technology to deliver interventions tailored to reducing heavy substance use and substance-related consequences. She is devoted to developing and evaluating interventions that increase treatment access, engagement, and implementation in both college and community settings. Outside of work, Dr. Teeters loves walking/hiking with her husband and rescue pups, native gardening, listening to music and podcasts, and reading.
Emma is a second year master's student in the Psychological Sciences graduate program at WKU.
Sidney is a second year master's student in the Psychological Sciences graduate program at WKU. She joined the TECH lab as an undergraduate in 2022 and graduated with her B.S. in Psychological Sciences from Western Kentucky University in May 2023. Continuing working on Project SEMI, she assists with participant recruitment and providing mobile-based interventions. Her research interests include substance use in relation to traumatic experiences (i.e., sexual victimization). Outside of the lab, Sidney enjoys reading, spending time with friends, and hanging out with her dog.Â
Graduate Research Assistant
Bradley is a graduate of the University of Central Florida, receiving his B.S. in Clinical Psychology in 2023. While at UCF he worked at the REALE-Time Lab, assisting with developing new methods of recruitment for studies via social media and assisting with participants through informed consent sessions. During this time, he also assisted with several research publications that revolved around the analysis of protective behavioral strategies and sociocultural factors in drinking, being published in The Journal of Drug Education and Ethnicity & Health. Before coming to Western Kentucky University, he worked as a psychometrician at Crescent Therapy & Assessment Services, conducting mental health evaluations and performing a diverse assortment of psychometric assessments. His current research interests include substance use and mental health stigma in Latino and first-generation communities. Outside of research, Bradley enjoys science fiction, listening to a wide variety of different kinds of music, and cooking.

Flynn is a student at the Gatton Academy at WKU. He plans to pursue a B.S. in Psychology with aims of eventually attaining a PhD in Clinical Psychology. Flynn joined the TECH Lab in the spring of 2024, and has worked on participant recruitment and individual research. His current research interests include the relationships between substance use, suicide, and eating disorders, especially among queer and neurodiverse populations. Outside of the lab Flynn enjoys baking, martial arts, and story telling.
Undergraduate Research Assistant
Alejandro is interested in describing use patterns of intoxicating hemp-derived products and comparing them to use patterns of traditional cannabis. Furthermore, he wishes to explore maladaptive behaviors associated with the use of these products. In the future, he hopes to study the short- and long-term effects central nervous system depressants have on the brain and behavior. Besides research, Alejandro enjoys hiking and playing video games.

Nathan is currently a senior at Western Kentucky University, pursuing a dual degree in biology and psychological science. His research interests include exploring the conditions under which individuals engage in health risk behaviors, particularly substance use and risky sexual behaviors in sexual and gender-diverse populations. Outside of lab, Nathan enjoys drinking a good latte and spending time with his dog, Rosie.

William is an undergraduate from Garrard County, Kentucky. He is getting a B.S. in Neuroscience to pursue a PhD in Pharmacology and Molecular Medicine. He plans to work on bettering practices for drug efficacy trials for experimental medications.
