How do I do this in classrooms?

  • Construct expectations with students on the first day of class.

  • Inclusion of a number of collaborative projects with other students.

Engaging and Catering to Unique Classroom Interests

Particularly, I strive to create a class that students will engage with and have a unique experience in.

How do I do this in classrooms?

  • When the weather is nice, sometimes I take it outside.

  • Include additional material on things my students have expressed interest in.

Application of Knowledge Learned

A goal in my classroom is to teach students to learn to think critically and apply knowledge they are learning.

How do I do this in classrooms?

  • Opportunities for group work or pair-and-share activities.

  • Assignments dedicated to applying research to real world experiences.

Providing and Allowing Feedback

Not only do I strive to provide appropriate and timely feedback, I ask students for their feedback in order to improve my own teaching style.

How do I do this in classrooms?

  • Provide students with a survey to give me midterm and finals week evaluations. I take this feedback forward through the rest of the class and my next classes.
