Survival Analysis Workshop – Dr. Paul Allison

  • Four week online course.

  • Workshop description: Teaches statistical methods for event-time data, also known as event history analysis. Topics include censoring, Kaplan-Meier estimation, Cox regression, discrete-time methods, competing risks, and repeated events.

Introduction to Dynamical Systems Analysis - Drs. Jonathan Butner & Brian Baucom

  • Five day in-person course at the University of Utah.

    • Workshop description: Dynamic systems models provide a unique lens for studying change over time; the focus in these models is on patterns of fluctuations about the mean, the stability of these patterns, and how these patterns change under different conditions. Research focused on how individuals, families, groups, and communities grow and change over time is increasingly recognizing the vast potential of dynamic systems models for advancing understanding of complex temporal phenomena.

Teaching Professional Development

Teaching in HDFS Course (HDFS 665). 1 credit hour.

Course description: Principles and practices of pedagogy in human development and family sciences related to both on-campus and Ecampus instruction.

Discussion Board Redevelopment Exercise.

Redevelopment of a discussion board for online HDFS 314 (Adult Development and Aging). Consisted of aligning discussion board with course objectives and updating links.

Kognito Mental Health Training.

Online training to simulate teaching skills around identifying possible mental distress and suicidal ideation. Additionally training provides training in providing resources through conversation to students in a sensitive and productive way.
