It is understood that it was originally named Church Farm House or Cottage. There is an inscription 1590 RWW on the stone lintel over the front door. This may be the date of construction but is more likely the date of a major rebuild.
There is a 6m (20ft) deep well inside the property together with a complete bread oven.
The adjoining large stone barn was built in 1835 and the stable from c1900's.
