Ruby's Inn, Bryce Canyon, Utah
Located just outside Bryce Canyon National Park, Ruby's Inn will provide our retreat participants with cozy accommodations, dining areas, meals, and meeting rooms. All hotel rooms reserved for the retreat have two queen-size beds. Participants may choose to have a private room or share with a colleague from their institution. On the Registration form, indicate your preference for a private or shared hotel room; and please let us know of any mobility concerns or special dietary needs you may have so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
Your retreat fee includes 2 nights/3 days lodging, 5 meals (dinner on Thursday evening through breakfast on Saturday), and 2 refreshment breaks. The clerk at the front desk will have your name on the guest list and your room key ready for you when you arrive. You may check in as early as 4:00 PM on Thursday.
The retreat will begin with a Welcome Dinner at 6:00 PM in the the Red Canyon Room of the Conference Center, followed by an Orientation Meeting at 7:00 PM in the same room. For information about local attractions to visit during "free time" on Friday afternoon, please consult the Prior Preparation page, which also provides instructions on how to prepare for full participation at the retreat.
Extending Your Stay at Ruby's Inn
Some participants may want to arrive early or stay over the weekend to enjoy more time in the area. You may contact Ruby's Inn (866-866-6616) and reserve the same hotel room throughout your stay. Of course, you will be personally responsible for any additional charges. They will need to confirm your retreat registration with us, so please let us know in advance of your intention to extend your stay, including the date(s).
Can I bring my spouse/friend to Bryce Canyon with me?
With the option available to stay in a private hotel room, participants at previous retreats have requested to bring family members or a friend with them. We will accommodate such requests but with one very important condition:
Condition for Bringing Personal Guests
If you bring personal guests to Ruby's Inn, you and they must understand that YOUR FIRST PRIORITY IS FULL PARTICIPATION IN ALL RETREAT ACTIVITIES from start to finish. The other retreat participants will be counting on you to be fully involved in every activity, including meals. Important conversations often happen during meals and break times, and the wrap-up activities on Saturday are an essential part of a successful retreat.
We have scheduled FREE TIME in the afternoon on Friday for participants (including their personal guests) to use however they wish, such as going on a hike, doing a little sightseeing in the area, or simply relaxing around Ruby's Inn (see the Prior Preparation page for information about local attractions).

Room Costs for Personal Guests
If you have more than two people staying in your private hotel room (you and one personal guest), Ruby's Inn charges $10/night for each extra person 18 years old and over. You will need to provide a personal credit card number when you check in to cover any additional charges.
Meals for Personal Guests
All of our meals will be served by Ruby's Inn. The cost of participants' meals is included in the retreat fee; however, if your personal guests would like to dine with the retreat group, the additional cost MUST be paid in advance. Also, please let us know in advance if you or your guests have special dietary needs (e.g., food allergies, vegetarian, etc.). We will strive to accommodate your and their needs.
If your guests would rather dine elsewhere, Ruby's Inn has a restaurant and there are other restaurants in Bryce Canyon City. Also, each hotel room has a refrigerator and microwave oven for food that your guests may purchase from the General Store.

PAYMENT for Personal Guest Meals
Your personal guest(s) will receive FIVE meals and the Friday afternoon free-time snack. The total cost is $115 for each personal guest (includes the required service fee for the catering staff).
In order to guarantee meals for your personal guest(s), you MUST confirm with the Retreat Coordinator, by email: HighroadPD@gmail.com; or phone: 435-590-6066 (if no answer, please leave a message); AND payment MUST be received ON or BEFORE Wednesday, February 11, 2026.
Upon request of guest meals, you will receive an electronic invoice via email from Highroad Professional Development, LLC. The invoice includes options to pay by credit card through the Wave Financial secure online payment system, OR you can send a check or money order by mail to the address on the invoice.
NOTE about SPAM FILTERS: Retreat invoices are normally sent via the secure Wave Financial system within 48 hours of requesting personal guest meals. However, some spam filters may block delivery. Check the spam/junk mail folders of your email account; then if you have not received an electronic invoice within 2 business days, please contact the Retreat Coordinator by email or phone.
