7:30 – You wake up and get ready for a 25–45-minute drive to Chicago to spend your day in a city with many people and many buildings.
11:30- You get to the city and park in parking garage.
11:45- You find the beautiful Bean that you thought was 10x smaller and take pictures by it. Sadly, these pictures are a mile away from the Bean because of construction.
12:15- After you walk across the street and then buy tickets to the Chiago Art Institute. You check out the Thorn rooms and paintings of all different sizes. You also find sculptures and grab a snack at one of the cafés inside the Art Institute.
1:30- You head right back over by the bean where you see these gigantic tile walls that show people’s faces. The only bad thing is that when the picture shows, water squirts out of their mouth! It is very interesting and a little weird though. Other than that, it is a cool exhibit.
2:00- You are starting to get hungry so look down many streets and finally find a pizza place. Instead of pizza you get a pasta that is baked with cheese and comes out so gooey that you have all the sauce on your face.
4:00- Next on the agenda you want to look for a gift shop, for you to get a cool looking Chicago shirt to remember this day trip. You spend lots of time and moola in the store and think to yourself “I need a sweet treat”.
5:15- You finally find a bakery called Magnolia Bakery and cannot wait to see what they have. You grab a banana pudding that they are known for and a chocolate chip cookie square. You devour the pudding and want to get more while eating whole cookie square in one bit.
5:45- You start to head back to the parking garage and head home while thinking about how wonderful your day has been.
SUMMER VS. WINTER
Amelia Speropoulos
Summertime is the best time
Summer is the time of year when you can play at the beach and do not have to wear layers and layers of clothes. Summer is the best! In summer you have no school/homework, can play sports like softball, basketball, and football outside, and it is warm outside! What is better than that!?
It is the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!
Wintertime, it's cold, it's snowing, it's GREAT! Winter is when most holidays are held, like New Year's Eve, Christmas, Kwanza, Hanukah, La posadas, and other interesting holidays. Winter break is the time when some families would go on vacation in warmer climates, this is why winter is up for the win!

ANIMAL AWESOME
Isaac Bell
Hello, welcome the first ANIMAL AWESOME of 2024! We'll kick off this new year by sharing 5 facts about our first reptile in animal awesome history, the rattlesnake.
1. Its bite force is 150 PSI (pounds per square inch), which is as strong as most industrial and commercial applications, like air compressors.
2. On average, rattlesnakes lay 8 to 12 eggs per clutch, but certain rattlesnakes, like the diamondback, can lay up to 30 eggs. Sadly, only 30% successfully hatch.
3. Rattlesnakes do their rattle by using 3 muscles, the supercostalis lateralis, iliocostalis, and longissum dorsi. These muscles create the rattle sound associated with rattlesnakes.
4. Rattlesnake's diets include rabbits, mice, squirrels, frogs, lizards, and other smaller animals.
5. The largest rattlesnake is the eastern diamondback rattlesnake, which is 4-6 feet on average. Meanwhile, the smallest rattlesnake is the Pygmy rattlesnake, which are just under 32 inches.
That's all I have for now. This was one of the most interesting animals I have researched in my writing career, considering there are 3 different rattlesnake species. Thanks for reading animal awesome. And that's the bottom line, see ya!

BY: JOHN DOYLE
ORANGES
Oranges are a very, very good fruit that gives you a great source of vitamin C. Oranges are also a super refreshing and juicy. Eating this on a summer day is truly something to beat and hyrates you almost instantly.
AVOCADOS
This is a controversial one, but in my opinion, avocados are such a good and healthy food to eat. Avocadoes can be eaten in many different ways such as on toast, in guacamole, and even just by itself with some salt and pepper sprinkled on top of it. My favorite version is guacamole. I make it a lot of times throughout the year especially summertime. It is so good especially with some add ons such as tomatoes, red onions, cilantro, salt and pepper, lime juice, and more. It is such a good food to enjoy with friends and family at gatherings, parties, etc.
MEXICAN FOOD
I don't really know if this food is underrater, but I have to add it just because of how good it is. There are many different foods in the “Mexican Food” category and they are almost all perfect. Some examples of these foods are tacos, burritos, enchiladas, Mexican rice, guacamole, beans, salsa/Pico de Gallo, Quesadillas, flautas, and many, many more things. All of these have great and unique flavors that make your mouth water anytime you see one of these dishes.
PICKLES
And last but not least, pickles. Pickles are a great food that are refreshing and could be sweet, salty, and even spicy. Pickles are great in many recipes and are great final touches to many dishes. Pickles also are a good source of vitamin A, vitamin k, and calcium.
