ARTISTS/BANDS THAT ARE UNDERRATED
Isaac Bell
There are many bands in the world, from The Beatles to B.T.S to the Beach Boys. However, there are many bands not prominent in the spotlight, some deserved and others completely criminal. Ranging from all genres of music, there are a select few who were/are diamonds in the rough. Here are those diamonds in the rough.
JIM JOHNSTON
Meet the man who single handedly carried Entrance themes for W.W.E (formerly W.W.F) during the 90’s through the early 2010’s. He made music of every genre for wrestlers. Want Country? Listen to Jeff Jarret's old theme. Want Metal? Listen to Undertakers theme. He’s done it all in music, and he even still makes music with the W.W.E Uncaged albums and his most recent album, Film Music.
QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE
After hearing their music in the car, I have fallen in love with their music. From No One Knows to Go with the Flow, their music has shaped my taste in music. Queens of the Stone Age are known for their blues, Krautrock and electronica-like style of music.
DOWNSTAIT
Downstait formed all the way back in 2002, and ever since then they have been making banger after banger, they have released several solo albums for W.W.E, A.E.W, AND EVEN T.N.A. Their most famous album, Kingdom, has been the song for the arguably face of W.W.E right now, Cody Rhodes. This band's music has a modern metal type beat that I love.
THE SLEEPING
A few months ago, while I was watching stuff on YouTube, I heard Don’t Hold Back in the background, and ever since then, I have been hooked to their music. While I have not listened to a lot of this band's music, I already know that they are one of the best and are diamonds in the rough.
Thanks for reading my article, I hope you liked it. And until next time, I’m out.
The McCord Gallery
Aine Szot
The McCord gallery was once an 1834 farmhouse, but today it is used as an art center and for cultural history.
This house was built in 1834 but in 1944, Frank Conell purchased the home and worked hard to preserve it. Then, in September 2004, the McCord gallery opened to the public. This house survived two world wars.
CLASSES
The classes you can take at the McCord house could be for music, art or more. The McCord gallery often hosts art exhibitions for students who attend district 118. Some upcoming exhibitions take place on March 1-30. All the exhibition's themes are “Making Her Mark.”
Drama Club: Beauty and The Beast
Martin Guerrero
This year’s drama club theme was, “Beauty and the Beast.” Drama club started at the beginning of October and ended in January. Ms. Marovich and Mr. Graham are the directors of this play. Now you might be thinking well… what about the cast, well I’m only going to do the main ones. Piper Sterling played Bella and Ash Adetimirin played Beast. Now who did the music, the set, and what about the sound effects and lighting? Well Ms. Schuller did the music, Mr. Buvala did the set help by stage crew which we will get into in a little bit. Then Mr. Markopoulos did the sound and lighting helped by sound in light. Now what is stage crew or sound and lighting, well I’m glad you asked. Stage crew and sound of lighting were run by 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. There is also student director that help with the dancing and stuff like that. The first performance happened January 19th. and January 20th. If you have not watch it well here are some pictures.
