The main goal in treating glaucoma is to slow down vision loss. This can be done by lowering eye pressure. The eye pressure can usually be controlled by medications. BUT in some patients, laser or surgery is needed to lower the eye pressure to a safer range.
The type of surgery that is best for each patient depends on a lot of things. Some include your type of glaucoma, shape of the eye, and if you had eye surgeries before. This page describes the most common laser and surgical options. For more information about each procedure, click or tap on its name.
