In the Graphics 2 assignment, we were to create an image that had six elements, including an image from a website, an image from another source, drawing tools, etc.

I started the project with completing some research on photo editing. Then, I thought about what I wanted to do with the project. One of my favorite things in the world is my daughter, Bonnie. I knew I wanted her to be the focus of the project.

I initially wanted to photo shop her into a picture of Carrick-a-rede rope bridge that I took when I lived in Ireland. I have a picture of myself on the bridge with my arms outstretched. I wanted to copy that picture, but she would doing the pose. However, I struggled to find the image I wanted of her in that position. Additionally, I did not think I could suitably include six elements and achieve the result I wanted.

From there, I decided I still wanted her to be in a picture of an exotic place I'd been in without her. I chose a picture I took of the Mayan Ruins in Belize. I looked at the picture for awhile, thinking about what elements I wanted to include aside from Bonnie. The picture reminded me of a fantasy setting, and I began thinking of mythological creatures that Bonnie and I love.

I included the dragon, phoenix, and unicorn because these are animals Bonnie and I relate to. I also included the lion because it reminds me of a protector who would guard this fantasy land. Finally, I used drawing elements to include the Sun, extra clouds, and white edges to make it a dream-like, sunny day.

After all the elements were included, I used filters to make the images appear as a cohesive photo. I then added text to the bottom that says "Bonnie's Dream World" to give the viewer an indication of what is happening in the photo.

I created the image using GIMP. The source of my photos include personal photo stock (Mayan ruins & Bonnie) and Google Images search for the dragon, phoenix, lion, and unicorn (See the links below).
