Positionality

Concerned with the mental health of caregivers, I recognize that much of my discussion is from the perspective of marginalized people. As a white male with a strong educational background and multiple volunteer experiences, driven by only a desire to help others rather than a financial need, it is important to note that I am at a distance from the experiences of minority caregivers. I am, however, intrigued by the use of cultural identity, social awareness and spirituality to foster and protect mental health.
