Wild Sheep Chase
WEEK 1 - 10/10/24
After coincidentally meeting at the Stone Flagon Inn, a diverse group of adventurers band together to thwart the strange plans of a wayward wizard apprentice who is after a sheep.
The sheep, who gives the crew a scroll of Speak With Animals, introduces himself as Finethir Shinebright. Unbeknownst to them, the sheep is a transformed elf wizard, cursed by a jealous rival mage. Through a series of challenges, including encounters with Half-Orcs, Bears, and a Dragon Wyrmling, the party decides to help Shinebright return to his original Elf form. As they uncover the mystery behind the wizard’s curse, the party ultimately confronts the villain responsible, Ahmed Noke, leading to an epic showdown. Noke transforms into a Gibbering Mouther in an attempt to withstand the party, but they manage to take him down by transforming him into a sheep using Shinebright's magical wand of True Polymorph. After this, Shinebright earns the party's trust by granting them access to the treasures hidden beneath his bedroom floorboards. He then convinces the crew to help him become an Elf again. With an attempt from Tohka to use The Wand of True Polymorph on the sheep, Shinebright levitates into the air. However, after a burst of light, the crew finds only a pile of bones and fur in Finethir Shinebright's place. They failed to save him, but they now have ownership of his tree house wizard tower and access to all of the treasures. However, trouble is stirring back in Neverwinter. What will they do next?
The Helpful Merchant
WEEK 2
After Defeating Noke, the crew sets out for Neverwinter. They decide to list Shinebright's house for sale, and when they arrive in Neverwinter they find themselves in a small shop. The crew replenishes their needs, and walks away with a few extra tricks up their sleeve. The store owner points the crew in the direction of a Mr. Rockseeker. He employs the crew to safely deliver some mining supplies to the small town of Phandalin. The crew accepts, and they begin their journey. On the way they discover some abandoned horse's, who they identify belong to Rockseeker and his guard, Sildar Hallwinter. Suddenly, the crew is surprised by a group of goblins. They fight mercilessly, but one manages to escape down a trail into the woods. The crew is at a impasse. Do they follow the escaped goblin and hopefully find Rockseeker and Hallwinter? Or do they journey on to Phandalin and deliver their caravan of supplies?
Cragmaw Hideout
WEEK 3
After a run in with some goblins, the crew decides to chase the one goblin that escaped them. Chadwick splits from the crew and continues into town with their caravan of goods. Following his trail leads the crew to a hideout of sorts. A large cave that breaks off into multiple small caverns is filled to the brim with goblins and wolves. The crew fights mercilessly, defeating the bugbear boss. Flying spells and weapons alike, and pummeling goblins with their bare hands... The crew is able to defeat all in their way. In the caves, Sildar Hallwinter is found. He is beaten and bruised, but grateful. He tells the crew of a castle that is housing more goblins. He also explains that Gundren Rockseeker was taken... as well as a map showing the path to Wave Echo Cave. A wizard by the name of Iarno Albrek is mentioned, and Sildar explains that he has gone missing after trying to communicate with him to uncover what is going on in Phandalin. After discussion, the crew travels into Phandalin for some rest and a good drink. They make their way into The Stonehill Inn, and find refuge for the night... But the next day holds adventures of more unknown stories.
A Captured... Friend?
WEEK 4
After a restful night at the Stone Hill Inn in Phandalin, the party learned from local residents about the troubles plaguing the town, such as the notorious Red Brands mercenaries harassing citizens and a lack of local authority. While conversing with two disgruntled locals, a gnome named Freda and a human named Lenora, the party discovered that Elsa the barkeep's sister, Gwyn Oresong, had been delayed in reaching Phandalin due to bandit attacks. Freda then informed them of the only business unbothered by the Red Brands, the Miners Exchange run by Halia Thornton, and directed them to the local authority, Harbin Wester, at the Town Hall. The party also learned from a young woman at Barthen Provisions that Chadwick had taken off with their payment for delivering goods, and that the Rockseeker brothers were waiting for Gundren at Wave Echo Cave. After emptying their bag of holding at the Lion Shield Coster for a reward and discounts, the party met Sister Garaele, who enlisted their help to find a banshee named Agatha in exchange for healing potions. Upon visiting the Town Hall, they were informed of the Red Brands' hideout and were offered rewards for resolving the town's issues. After locating Sildar Hallwinter, who offered a substantial reward for rescuing Gundren, the party engaged in combat with the Red Brands outside the Sleeping Giant Inn. They captured one named Ethan, who revealed vital information about the Red Brands’ stronghold and suggested a plan to infiltrate it through a secret tunnel while he created a diversion.
The Manor
WEEK 5
After a long rest, the party prepares to storm the Red Brand Manor with the help of Ethan, a reformed Red Brand who once sought to attend wizard school in Neverwinter but was orphaned and taken in by the gang. Ethan warns them of a “one-eyed monster” lurking in the tunnels and shares that he has never met the malevolent figure known as "the Spider," but knows he is seeking the location of Wave Echo Cave. Before their assault, the party shops for supplies, encountering an elf named Landver Sedleweed who gifts Tohka a magical tattoo, and Tharoak and Sona visit a plant shop run by an elderly dwarf named Tholina Glova. With their supplies ready, Ethan sneaks ahead to distract the Red Brands while the party approaches Tresdar Manor through the woods, locating the secret tunnel entrance. However, their stealth is compromised when they encounter Sarnac, the one-eyed monster, but they negotiate safe passage in exchange for fresh meat. After navigating the tunnel, they reach the basement of the manor, discovering various rooms, including one filled with books and alchemical supplies, where they find a journal mentioning the Phandalin mines, the Forge of Spells, and a map to Wave Echo Cave. Suddenly, a human wizard named Iarno Glasstaff Albrek bursts in and attacks, leading to a fierce battle. As the noise draws the attention of other Red Brands, the party pursues Glasstaff through the tunnels, with Tohka ultimately delivering the final blow. They find a letter in Glasstaff’s cloak revealing a plot against the dwarves in Phandalin, stamped with the insignia of a black spider. After defeating the Red Brands, Tharoak examines the tunnels and discovers the disfigured bodies of goblins with elongated heads and strange green crystals embedded in them, suggesting a darker magic at play.
The Manor Cont.
WEEK 6
After successfully defeating most of the enemies in Tresdar Manor, the party continues their search for the missing townsfolk, ultimately locating the crypt where they find three captives: a mother named Mirna, her daughter Nars, and her sister Nilsa. Having freed them, the party proceeds to loot the manor, discovering spare weapons, 200 gold, a silk purse containing seven gems, scrolls of *Hold Person* and *Fireball*, a letter addressed to Glasstaff about an alliance with the Red Brands to find Wave Echo Cave, and an Ermine tome that mentions a lost mace called Lightbringer. They also uncover three bottles of alchemical ingredients before leaving the manor victorious. Back in Phandalin, they inform Mayor Harbin Wester and Sildar Hallwinter about their findings, prompting Sildar to express his concern about Iarno's alliance with the Red Brands and the threat of a figure known as "the Spider." He offers the party 200 gold and a healing potion each to aid in their next task against Craigmaw Castle. As a sign of gratitude for defeating the Red Brands, Ethan is appointed as the new sheriff. Later, while resting at the Stone Hill Inn, Tohka reveals a letter he found on Glasstaff that mentions the Zhentarim, a dangerous group tied to his troubling past. Mirna approaches the party to inform them of a family heirloom hidden in Thundertree, which is overrun by undead, offered as a reward if they can retrieve it. Meanwhile, Tharoak takes a walk in the woods, sensing something sinister in the air, and Sona experiences a troubling dream of being pursued by a shadowy figure, awakening just as she approaches a fork in the road.
The Banshee
WEEK 7
The next morning, the party reconvenes to decide on their next quest, ultimately agreeing to confront the banshee at Agatha's lair. After a three-day journey, they arrive at the seemingly abandoned town of Conyberry and find a small hut enveloped by a dome of trees, where they are met by the spectral figure of Agatha. Persuading her to help, Sona asks about her draconic magic rather than the spellbook belonging to Bo Gentle. Agatha answers her question and disappears, prompting Sona to offer a comb given to them by Sister Garaela in exchange for more information. Agatha reveals that the last known location of the spellbook was with a necromancer named Tsernoth in Iriaebor, a name that resonates with Sona due to its mention in Shinebright's letters. With their mission regarding the banshee complete and aware of marauders causing issues along the trading trails, the party decides to address this new threat as well. They set off down the Tribor Trail, eventually locating Wyvern Tor Cave, where they engage in a battle with bugbears and orcs, emerging victorious and finding some treasure. Some enemies escape, and the party takes chase. After hours of following them, they catch them ascending a ladder on a vertical cliff face. Danny and Sona use their spells to sever the ladder and the party watches them fall to their deaths. Tohka is unsure of his feelings towards Danny's aggressive tactics. After dealing with the marauders, they begin the journey back to Phandalin but encounter human tracks leading to a ruined watchtower, where they are beset by a swarm of undead zombies. A necromancer named Convine emerges from a colorful tent, clarifying that the zombies were his "help." After sharing their recent exploits, the party receives a scroll of darkness as a reward from Convine and manages to convince him to let them rest at the tower. That night, Tohka dreams of his family calling for help, showing him a hidden path north of Neverwinter Woods that traverses the Lurkwoods and Moonwoods, culminating in a vision of a vast stone plain, leaving him anxious for what lies ahead.
