These lessons can be done in any order. Enjoy watching the short video clips and answering the questions and completing the activities. Our guidance lessons this year have been focusing on how we feel strong emotions in our body (heart beats faster, feel hot, muscles tense up etc.) and how we can use calming down strategies when we have strong emotions.
Think: What are you feeling right now?
What can you do when you are feeling grumpy?
What can you do when you are feeling sad?
Activity: Make a list of things that make you happy? Feel free to share the list with me by emailing your list!
Think: How does a person's face change based on their emotion?
How does a person's body change based on their emotion?
Which of these feelings are you feeling the most right now?
Activity: Fold a piece of paper in half 2 times so you have 4 squares. Write one of the following emotions in each square: Happy - Sad - Worried -Angry. Draw a picture of yourself showing each emotion. You can even share your activity with me by emailing me a picture!
Think: Have you ever felt like Howard?
How did Howard learn to listen to his body when it was angry?
What were some things Howard learned to do when he felt that he was getting angry?
Activity: Draw an outline of your body. Mark the parts of your body where you feel your anger when you are angry. Feel free to send me your outline by emailing me!
Think: How do you feel about making mistakes?
Were you ever afraid of trying something but you did it anyway? What made you try something scary?
Beatrice felt her "stomach jumping around inside of her." How do you think she is feeling? How do you know?
In your opinion, what do you think is more important? Learning from your mistakes or being perfect?
Activity: Fold a piece of paper in half. On one side draw or write about a mistake you have made. On the other side draw or write about the lesson you learned from your mistake. You can send me a picture of your finished activity as well.
