Dr. P Balamuralidhar

Principal Scientist &Head, TCS Innovation Labs, Bangalore at Tata Consultancy Services

Dr. Balamuralidhar P is Head and Principal Scientist in Embedded Systems and Robotics Research, TCS Research and Innovation, at Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (TCS). He has over 30 years of research and development experience in Systems for Signal Processing, Communications, and the Internet of Things. His major areas of current research include different aspects of Cyber Physical Systems, Cognitive Robotics, and Computer Vision. He has authored the book IoT – Technical Challenges and Solutions, published by Artech House.

Dr. Sandip Chakraborty

Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, IIT Kharagpur

Sandip Chakraborty is working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur. He completed his PhD from IIT Guwahati in 2014. He is a member of Complex Network Research Group (CNeRG), an interdisciplinary research group working on cross-domain research covering machine learning, social systems and computer systems. He leads multiple high-valued projects, sponsored by the GoI as well as various industries like Intel, HPE, and BEL. He is a member of IEEE COMSOC, ACM SIGCOMM and ACM SIGMOBILE. Dr. Chakraborty is one of the founding members of ACM IMOBILE, the ACM SIGMOBILE chapter at India. He is working as an Area Editor of Elsevier Ad Hoc Networks journal. The primary research interests of Dr. Chakraborty is on various aspects of machine learning applications for computer systems, development of assistive technologies for societal well-being and design of distributed, pervasive and ubiquitous technologies over mobile devices and smartphones.

Dr. Chittaranjan Hota

Professor, Department of CSE, BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus

Dr. Chittaranjan Hota, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, completed his Ph.D from BITS, Pilani and has over thirty years of academic and research experience in Indian and universities abroad. His Ph.D work was on Quality of Service (QoS) assurances in IP-Virtual Private Networks, part of which was carried out at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Prior to PhD, he had earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering, and a Masters of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering.

Dr. Hota’s research interests include developing algorithms and models for building systems and applications in areas like Big-data analytics, Internet of Things, and Cyber security in which he has more than 100 publications in various journals and conferences. He is currently working on developing self-verifying code for IoT devices alongwith researchers from VU, Netherlands. In the past, he has executed funded projects in the area of Network threat monitoring, and building secure Peer-to-Peer overlays using AI and ML techniques. Over these years, his research has been funded by MeitY, UGC, TCS, NWO, Intel, and Progress software. He is a Senior member of IEEE.

Dr. Tanushyam Chattopadhyay

Principal Scientist at TCS Research and Innovation Labs, Kolkata

Dr. Tanushyam Chattopadhyay with 17+ years of experience is currently working as a Principal Scientist at TCS Research and Innovation Labs. He started his career as research in Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata and later on, joined Tata Consultancy Services Limited in 2004. Later he was awarded with the Ph.D degree from Jadavpur University for the work done at ISI, Kolkata, in 2012. He had training on Speech Signal processing from IISC Bangalore, image processing from IIT Kharagpur, and video processing from IIT Delhi. Also attended a course on Deep Learning from Prof. Bengio in 2015. He has nearly 50 patents got granted across the globe. He also authored a book and some book chapters. He has published nearly 70+ papers in peer reviewed journals and conferences. He is a member of International Machine Learning Society. Serving as a member of Board of Governor of several academic institutions. He has delivered tutorials/ keynote addresses and served as reviewer/Technical Program Chair/Session chair in number of international conferences and journal. His current research is evolved around developing an analytics solution for TCS built IoT platform namely TCS Connected Universe Platform (TCUP) which involves both research and engineering in different areas of data science.

He was awarded with many prizes like:

• Winner of the WWW 2011 Software Contest

• Winner of Computer Society of India Young IT Professional Award in region level and awarded with special mention award in national level.

• Significant contribution award from CSI in 2012-2013.

• From TCS got the awards like Patent Champion (twice) for the years 2010-2011 and 2014-2015, Star of the month in January 2010 and November, 2005, Best team of TCS for the month in August 2010, Top 100 C Coder of TCS in March, 2009, Young Innovator in 2007.

• He was awarded with the University Gold (1st Class 1st) medal in MCA.

• First class Third in graduation (Physics as Major).

Dr. Moumita Patra

Assistant Professor, Department of CSE, IIT Guwahati

Moumita Patra is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, IIT Guwahati. She has received her PhD from Department of CSE, IIT Madras. She has received her M.Tech in CSE from University of Hyderabad and B.Tech in CSE from West Bengal University of Technology. Before IIT Guwahati, she has worked as an Assistant Professor at IIIT Hyderabad. Her research interests are in the areas of wireless networks, connected vehicles, Internet of Things, and network performance evaluation.

Praful Vinayak

Founder, Dapp Logix, Hyderabad

Tech Entrepreneur and Social Investor. Has over 19 years of experience in IT with companies such as Wipro Technologies, Google, Microsoft and CSC (now DXC) . Alumnus of IIT-Madras and Stanford University. DAAD scholarship recipient and exchange student alumnus of Technische Universität Dresden.

Started entrepreneurial journey in 2014 and had decent exits from prior two startups. Shifted base from Los angeles to Hyderabad permanently in 2018. Late 2018, founded startup #3 DappLogix to explore interesting use cases of Blockchain. Launched our first Hyperledger based product Hirestar.io in July 2019 at the JNT University Hyderabad. Associated with the Nasscom 10K Hyderabad startups program as a warehouse startup from 2016 and contributing to create an awesome startup ecosystem at Hyderabad.

Saurabh Samanta

Information Security Professional

Central Research Laboratory, BEL (Ministry of Defense), Bangaluru

Saurabh Samanta is currently working as a Member (Research Staff) in Central Research Laboratory, Bharat Electronics Limited, Bangalore. He is a security professional and contributed his 10 years in areas of Information Security, Storage Security, Vulnerability Assessment and Penetration Testing, Defence Security Solutions, Network & Communication Security, Digital Forensics and Malware Analysis. He completed his MTech in Information Security from NIT Karnataka Surathkal and B.Tech in Computer Science from Nagpur University. Presently he is also a research scholar at IIT Kharagpur exploring the possibilities to secure the IoT ecosystem.

Chander Govindarajan

IBM Research Lab, Bangaluru

Chander Govindarajan is a Research Engineer in IBM Research, Bangalore. He specializes in systems and has worked in networks, distributed systems, cloud and primarily in Blockchain for the last 3 years. He completed his BTech/MTech Dual Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 2017 where his research focus was on blockchain consensus protocols.

Dr. Rajesh P Barnwal

Senior Research Scientist at CSIR-CMERI

Dr. Rajesh P. Barnwal is a Senior Research Scientist at AI & IoT Lab, IT Group of CSIR-Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute, Durgapur, India. He has more than 12 years of professional and R&D experience in the field of Information Technology and allied discipline. He has earned his M.Tech. and Ph.D. degrees from IIT, Kharagpur. He was awarded Senior Member award by Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), USA in the year 2013 for his significant contribution in the field of CSE/IT. Dr. Barnwal has authored more than 30 research papers, book chapters and technical reports. He has a number of copyrights and design registrations in his credit. He is also associated with AcSIR, New Delhi as Asst. Professor (Honorary). He is currently leading a number of research projects on Industrial IoT funded by various Govt. of India agencies. He is serving as reviewer in a number of SCI journals and also a guest editor of International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks. His current areas of research interest include Internet of Things, Security of Cyber Physical Systems and Cloud Computing.
