Block W & Pins
Block W Purpose
The purpose of the Space & Engineering Academy Block W is to encourage and reward students for taking full advantage of the opportunities they have in our program - to do their best in their classes, and to participate in SEA activities outside of class.
Block W Requirements
To qualify for an SEA Block W, students must complete eight consecutive quarters (2 years) with the following:
A cumulative (total) GPA of 3.25 or higher
Participation in at least 4 SEA activities total
No SEA Probation (no grades less than a C)
Block W Pin
Students who have earned the SEA Block W may also earn a pin to add to their Block W if they have four consecutive quarters (1 year) after earning the Block W with:
A cumulative (total) GPA of 3.25 or higher
Participation in at least 2 SEA activities total
No SEA Probation (no grades less than a C)
Community Service Pin
Students who have done community service beyond what is required for SEA Graduation can earn a Community Service pin to add to their Block W. Students can earn a pin for every 40 hours of community service done beyond graduation requirements.
Application
Students can apply for an SEA Block W online at the end of each school year, 1 week before the Academy Awards Night. You will need to log in to your school account in order to apply. The earliest students can apply is at the end of their sophomore year.
