The Westlake Speech and Debate Booster Club was created by a dedicated group of parents who recognized the growing financial needs of a thriving, nationally-ranked program. As the team expanded and competitive opportunities increased, so did the costs of coaching, tournaments, travel, and essential resources. To ensure that every student—regardless of financial circumstance—can fully participate and benefit from the transformative experience of speech and debate, the booster club works to bridge funding gaps, support program logistics, and strengthen the community behind our students.

Given the expenses of competing in speech and debate such as transportation, tournament entry, judging, and logistics, the school's budget for the program does not cover the cost for each student. Without more funding, students can pay hundreds of dollars to attend a single tournament. Through the help of donations to the program, the financial barrier to entry can be removed and students can compete regardless of economic status.
