Gina Sedman's "Whos Clyde" Premiere Brings Laughter, Applause, Surprises And Hints At More To Come
Red Carpet Event Features Live Theatre, Surprise Appearance By Clyde, New Management Team Announcement, Emotional Award Presentation, Star-Studded After-Party, And Exciting Plans For Future Screenings
WATFORD, UK — Multi-award-winning singer, songwriter, producer, and filmmaker Gina Sedman celebrated the successful premiere of her highly anticipated comedy-mystery film Whos Clyde at The Pump House Theatre in Watford, delivering an unforgettable evening of entertainment, laughter, music, mystery, and celebration.
The red carpet event attracted a packed audience of cast members, family, friends, media representatives, supporters, and independent film enthusiasts, many dressed for the occasion as they gathered to experience the unique world of Whos Clyde.
Before the film began starring Mark Springer & Theo St. Claire, guests were treated to an exclusive live theatrical performance inspired directly by characters from Sedman's screenplay. Richie Tee, Theo St. Claire, and Gina Sedman brought the audience immediately into the story with a hilarious scene featuring the infamous "Sock-Sniffing Bandit" Tyrone.
The audience was caught completely off guard when Gina Sedman's opening remarks were interrupted by a mock police call searching for Tyrone. As Richie Tee and Gina desperately attempted to explain the situation, laughter echoed throughout the theatre.
Then came one of the evening's most talked-about moments.
Without warning, Clyde himself appeared before the audience dressed in his trademark all-black attire and distinctive feathered black hat. The crowd erupted with laughter, applause, cheers, and amazement as the mysterious character stepped into the spotlight, bringing one of the film's most memorable personalities to life.
The theatrical opening perfectly set the stage for what followed. Throughout the screening, audiences laughed, reacted, and became fully immersed in the film's blend of comedy, mystery, nostalgia, and soul-inspired storytelling. As the credits rolled, enthusiastic applause filled the theatre, reflecting the audience's appreciation for both the film and the overall experience.
The evening also featured a red carpet media reception hosted by Angela Barrows of The Antony B Show alongside media personality MP Marcus. Cast members participated in interviews, photographs, and media appearances while guests enjoyed the glamour and excitement surrounding the event.
Among the attending media personalities and special guests were Antony B Williams, MP Marcus, Lady Elemental, and Angela Barrows, all helping to shine a spotlight on one of the UK's most ambitious independent film and music projects.
One of the evening's most significant announcements came when Gina Sedman and Andrew Sedman publicly introduced their new management team. Diverse FM's & Jazz FM's very own Richie Tee and Starpoint Radio's Fitzroy Williams were officially announced as management representatives, with Comfort Green serving as management assistant. The announcement was warmly received by attendees and marks an exciting new chapter for the continued growth of Gina Sedman's music, film, touring, and creative ventures.
Following the screening, guests attended a lively after-party featuring live performances from Gina Sedman and Andrew Sedman. Music from the Whos Clyde soundtrack brought the celebration to life before acclaimed DJs Eli Trim, Rian Perle, and Victor Anderson took over the decks, delivering an energetic soundtrack that kept guests dancing and celebrating late into the evening.
One of the most emotional moments of the night came when Gina Sedman was unexpectedly presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a special award by members of the cast in recognition of her tireless dedication, creative vision, and unwavering commitment to the Whos Clyde project.
The surprise presentation caught Sedman completely off guard. Overcome with emotion, she was visibly moved as the cast paid tribute to the countless hours of writing, producing, directing, recording, coordinating, and financing required to bring the ambitious independent film and soundtrack project to life.
As she accepted the award, Sedman was brought to tears by the heartfelt gesture and overwhelming support shown by the cast and audience. The touching moment received warm applause and became one of the most memorable highlights of the evening.
The premiere also highlighted the remarkable community behind the project. Cast members attended with their families and friends, supporters purchased merchandise and memorabilia, and volunteers worked tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure the event's success.
Special recognition goes to Fitzroy Williams, Richie Tee, Comfort Green, Rita, Slywia, Pauline, Chantelle, Wayne, Eli, Theo St. Claire, Aleysha, Mohamed, and the many supporters whose contributions helped make both the film and premiere possible.
Aleysha was praised for expertly managing the merchandise table, while Mohamed captured the excitement of the evening through photographs of the cast, guests, and red carpet arrivals.
The management team of Fitzroy Williams, Richie Tee, and Comfort Green were also recognized for their dedication, guidance, and commitment throughout the project.
The team at The Pump House Theatre, particularly Fabriana, Louise, and Eddie, received special thanks for their professionalism, hospitality, and support in helping the event run smoothly.
Guests were additionally treated to a beautiful celebration cake prepared by Comfort Green and Belinda, adding another memorable touch to an evening already filled with joy and appreciation.
Reflecting on the evening, Gina Sedman said:
"Andrew and I are still taking it all in. To see so many people come together to support independent film, laugh with the characters, enjoy the music, and celebrate with us was incredibly moving. We are deeply grateful to our cast, crew, supporters, management team, media partners, and everyone who attended. This has been an unforgettable experience and a true blessing."
The excitement surrounding Whos Clyde continued long after the final credits rolled. Throughout the evening, audience members and members of the media repeatedly asked whether there would be more adventures for Clyde in the future.
While stopping short of making an official announcement, Sedman hinted that the story may not be over.
"There are definitely conversations taking place," Sedman said. "The response to Whos Clyde has been incredible, and we're excited by the possibilities. Clyde still has a few secrets left to reveal."
Sedman also confirmed that additional screenings of Whos Clyde are currently being planned, with dates, venues, and special events expected to be announced soon.
For now, her focus remains on completing the remainder of her successful UK tour with Monopoly alongside her husband, percussionist, and longtime musical collaborator Andrew Sedman.
Created entirely through independent production, Whos Clyde combines a retro-inspired comedy-mystery film with a 12-track original soul and funk soundtrack written, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Gina Sedman. The project also features Andrew Sedman on percussion alongside acclaimed musicians Robert "Peewee" Hill on bass and Michiko Hill on keyboards.
With audience demand continuing to grow and excitement building around both the film and soundtrack, Whos Clyde appears poised to continue its journey well beyond its successful Watford premiere.
Fans are encouraged to follow upcoming announcements regarding future screenings, music releases, live performances, and tour dates.

Inside a Self-Funded Film and Music Universe Built Outside the Industry System
Soul artist, filmmaker, and independent media creator Gina Sedman has completed an unprecedented creative output across film, music, and publishing — producing a feature film, a 12-song album, and a companion book in just four months, entirely independently and without any industry backing.
Since relocating to the UK in 2023, Sedman has independently released four full-length albums within 18 months and expanded her creative practice into film and literature. Her latest project, Who’s Clyde, represents a fully self-contained creative universe spanning a feature film, original soundtrack album, and companion book — all written, produced, and developed without a record label, external funding, promoter, booking agent, or production company.
All work is released through her independent label and publishing company Gico Music, a fully family-run operation.
The Who’s Clyde album is scheduled for release on 1 June 2026, followed by the feature film premiere on 7 June 2026 at The Pump House, Watford, UK. The release will be accompanied by a red carpet screening and public premiere event.
The companion Who’s Clyde book will also be released alongside the film and album, expanding the narrative world and offering additional depth to the characters and story universe.
Who’s Clyde is a family-friendly comedy-mystery set in a stylised 1970s-inspired world blending soul music, humour, and narrative storytelling. The story follows a neighbourhood legend known only as Clyde — a mysterious figure whose presence sparks rumours, strange encounters, and escalating events, drawing two detectives into a chaotic investigation filled with eccentric characters and unexpected twists.
The film features a unique casting approach, blending professional screen actors with first-time performers drawn from the UK soul radio and DJ community, including presenters from Mi-Soul Radio, Diverse FM, Soul Groove Radio, and Starpoint Radio. This creates a rare crossover between broadcast radio culture and on-screen performance.
The project also includes established UK and international actors such as Mark Springer (Royal National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Shadow & Bone – Netflix, Doctor Who – BBC, EastEnders – BBC, Holby City – BBC), Theo St. Claire (Foundation – Apple TV+, Guerrilla – Showtime/Sky Atlantic, BBC dramas including Doctors and New Blood), alongside performers including Rian Pearl and Akin Shenbanjo Jr.
Gina Sedman’s work has received consistent UK national radio support, including a live performance on BBC Radio London’s Robert Elms Show, multiple-month playlist support from Jazz FM, and ongoing championing from Mi-Soul Radio DJs including Greg Edwards, Calvin Francis, and Ronnie Herel.
Internationally, she has been recognised in California’s Coachella Valley as one of the region’s first Black female filmmakers and named among the Top 12 Most Inspirational and Influential People of the Coachella Valley for her work in independent film and creative entrepreneurship.
Alongside her creative output, Sedman also operates multiple independent media platforms including The Indie Post Magazine (featuring over 300 interviews), Indie Soul Radio, and NDME TV.
