Everywhere they go, the detectives meet people who have been changed, shaken, or scared by Clyde. Some say he’s dangerous. Some say he’s a hero. Some say he’s a supernatural traveller from another time. But nobody has ever seen his face… and those who get close never return the same.
As Willis and Booker follow the trail of rumours, funk, and flip‑flop fights, the legend of Clyde grows deeper, stranger, and more soulful — all leading back to the biggest question in town: Who is Clyde?
SYNOPSIS
A mysterious figure known only as Clyde is shaking up the neighbourhood — a man with a legendary afro, a black hat with a feather, and a long black Cadillac that glides through town like a shadow. No one has ever seen his face, but everyone knows the consequences of crossing his path.
Because Clyde doesn’t just appear… He transforms you.
Anyone who encounters him is instantly pulled into a 70s time‑warp, forced into soul‑brother outfits, platform shoes, and retro slang — locked into the 1970s forever. It’s a strange, supernatural phenomenon that no one can explain, and everyone fears.
When a terrified man claims he accidentally looked at Clyde and was thrown into full 70s mode, detectives Willis and Booker are assigned to investigate. What begins as a simple break‑in case quickly spirals into a wild chase involving stolen dirty socks, chaotic snooker‑hall brawls, and a house full of unforgettable characters — including the fierce and hilarious Three Sassy Sisters.
A retro, family‑friendly comedy‑mystery, “Who’s Clyde” is powered by the original twelve‑song soundtrack album Who’s Clyde, a two‑sided soul and funk project written and produced entirely by Gina Sedman. Inspired by the classic 1970s soundtrack style of Curtis Mayfield’s Superfly, the album blends heartfelt soul, playful funk, and timeless 70s character, with each track supporting the film’s world — from the swagger of “Who Is Clyde,” “Black Hat Cadillac,” and “You So Smooth,” to the cinematic pulse of “The Chase,” “The Photograph,” and “Without a Trace,” and the emotional depth of “Never,” “A Difference,” and “I Want to Go.” Every note, vocal, arrangement, and performance is 100% human and crafted by Sedman herself, with select contributions from Andrew Sedman on percussion, Robert “Peewee” Hill on bass, and Michiko Hill on keys, all woven into a soundtrack that feels both classic and new.
The film and the album are deeply connected, with the movie serving as the visual companion to the music. Both the film and the album are written and produced by Gina Sedman, who also serves as the film’s writer, producer, director, cinematographer, and editor, as well as co‑executive producer alongside her husband, Andrew Sedman. A multi‑award‑winning soul recording artist with over thirty years in the music industry and more than a decade of experience writing, producing, and directing films, Sedman brings her signature blend of storytelling, humour, and musicality to this vibrant new project. Who’s Clyde creates a world where retro soul, modern folklore, and playful mystery collide, offering a fresh, fun cinematic adventure for all ages. The album will be released exclusively on Bandcamp on June 1, 2026, with the film premiering in early June 2026. The movie premieres at The Reading Biscuit Factory, Reading on Jun 7, 2026. As CEO, Founder, Owner, and President of GNA Universal Media, she leads a dynamic, multi-platform corporation spanning music, film, television, publishing, and broadcasting. Under her leadership, the company has evolved into an independent powerhouse, encompassing ventures such as The Indie Post Magazine, Indie Soul Radio, Under The Radar Magazine, Gico Music, NDME TV, Indie Music TV, The CV Indie Film Awards, and All IndieFlix.
With over three decades of hands-on experience, Sedman has established herself as a true multi-hyphenate—recording artist, filmmaker, songwriter, music engineer, producer, director, editor, journalist, publisher, author, and radio host. Her work reflects a rare fusion of creative excellence and entrepreneurial vision, positioning her as a driving force within the global independent entertainment community.
As a recording artist, Gina has written, produced, and recorded more than sixteen albums and an extensive catalogue of singles, the majority released through her own label and publishing company, Gico Music. Since 2006, she has independently written and produced all of her recordings, crafting a signature sound rooted in classic soul, funk, and R&B while pushing the genre forward for modern audiences. Her discography reflects a steady evolution of artistry and independence, culminating in recent critically acclaimed releases such as Valuable People (2024), 1972 (2025), and Said MAN! (2025), all of which have achieved strong international airplay, chart success, and rapid physical sales.
Her latest single, Smile, has made a significant global impact, praised for its heartfelt message and uplifting energy. The track earned placement on leading UK platforms including BBC Radio London, where she was interviewed on the Robert Elms Show and delivered a live acoustic performance of My Destiny, accompanied by her husband, Andrew Sedman, on percussion and Ryan McCaffrey on piano. The performance received widespread praise and further cemented her reputation as a compelling live vocalist. Smile was also named Record of the Week on Solar Radio by DJ Dave Fleming, entered the Solar Radio Sweet Rhythms Chart, and was selected as Winter Pick of the Week on Michael K. Amil’s TeeRex Radio Show in Canada. The track secured playlist placement on Jazz FM, where respected presenters such as Robbie Vincent, Danielle Perry, Simon Phillips, Yolanda Brown, and John Osborne championed her work. Featuring contributions from Grammy Award-winning guitarist Michael J. Calhoun and acclaimed producer Kevin Flournoy, the single exemplifies Sedman’s ability to create music that resonates deeply with audiences seeking authenticity and positivity.
Her music continues to reach audiences on a global scale, with consistent airplay across major DAB, FM, and online stations including BBC London, Mi-Soul Radio, Jazz FM, Solar Radio, 1BTN, Stomp Radio, Starpoint Radio, and numerous international platforms. Her album Valuable People alone generated nearly 200 radio plays across more than 25 stations, reaching an audience exceeding 600,000 listeners, further solidifying her position as a leading voice in contemporary independent soul music.
Continuing her creative momentum, Sedman’s forthcoming album, Who’s Clyde (June 1, 2026), stands as one of her most ambitious and immersive projects to date. Inspired by the classic 1970s soundtrack era, the album is a two-sided soul and funk experience that blends heartfelt storytelling with cinematic groove. Side S celebrates love, life, and gratitude, while Side F delivers a vibrant, character-driven funk sound that serves as the official soundtrack to her upcoming feature film. Entirely written, produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Sedman, the project showcases her complete artistic command, with additional contributions from Andrew Sedman on percussion, Robert “Peewee” Hill on bass, and Michiko Hill on keys, all crafted with a fully human, organic approach to music-making.
Closely tied to the album is her upcoming film, Who’s Clyde, a retro-inspired, family-friendly comedy-mystery set in a stylized 1970s world. Written, produced, directed, filmed, and edited by Sedman, the film transforms the music into a visual narrative, blending humour, soul, and cinematic storytelling. The film is set to premiere on June 7, 2026, at The Reading Biscuit Factory in Reading, UK, marking a major milestone in her expanding international film presence and reinforcing her ability to merge music and film into a unified creative vision.
Beyond music, Sedman has made a profound impact in film and television as a self-taught, self-funded filmmaker. She has written, produced, directed, filmed, and edited a wide range of stage plays, web series, and feature films, including Aspire to Inspire, The Unexpected, The Assumptions, The One Year Pact, Acts of Kindness, Rose England, and The Star Connection, along with the UK-based children’s film The Incredible Shrinking Liar (2023). She is also the creative force behind multiple web series, including Billy Jones, Same Difference, The Diary, and Maylene. In total, Sedman has created 17 filmed works across television, film, documentaries, and talk shows, building a diverse and impactful body of work that blends storytelling, music, and visual artistry.
Her influence extends into publishing and journalism as the Head Editor and Publisher of The Indie Post Magazine, a globally distributed entertainment publication available in print and digital formats worldwide. Through her work as a journalist, she has conducted interviews with an extraordinary range of artists and public figures across music, film, television, and business, from globally recognized icons such as Anthony Hamilton, Jennifer Holliday, Karyn White, Melba Moore, Miki Howard, Kenny Lattimore, and Howard Hewitt, to legendary figures including Eddie Levert of The O’Jays, Robert Kool Bell of Kool & The Gang, and Lou Gossett Jr., as well as a wide spectrum of respected independent artists, actors, and creatives. Her ability to bridge mainstream and independent voices has made her platform a vital space for authentic storytelling within the entertainment industry.
A seasoned live performer, Gina has shared stages with major acts and opened for Rose Royce, while also headlining and selling out respected UK venues including The Bear Club, PizzaExpress Live in London, The Stables in Milton Keynes, and Soul Mama London, with an upcoming performance scheduled at PizzaExpress Live Chelsea. London, UK — A new wave of retro cinema arrives this summer as the highly anticipated comedy-mystery Who’s Clyde prepares for its official red carpet premiere at The Reading Biscuit Factory on 7 June 2026.
Created by multi-award-winning filmmaker and soul recording artist Gina Sedman, Who’s Clyde introduces audiences to a vibrant, 1970s-inspired world filled with rhythm, humour, and intrigue. The story centres on a neighbourhood legend—a mysterious figure known only as Clyde—whose presence sparks confusion, fascination, and a trail of unusual events. As rumours spread and strange encounters escalate, two detectives are drawn into a whirlwind of colourful characters, chaos, and unexpected twists.
Blending retro aesthetics with family-friendly comedy, Who’s Clyde delivers a fresh and soulful cinematic experience. The film is supported by an original twelve-track soundtrack album, written and produced entirely by Sedman.
