Abstract:

This project is a collection of unique polaroid photographs. They were made at a time in my life when I was transitioning to an art-based career from a corporate one. I was experiencing loss of a relationship and was exploring that through relationships with prized inanimate objects.

My grandfather, an illiterate Turkish farmer, now stands among skyscrapers in the country where his granddaughter was born, raised, and will one day study. This photo is more than a snapshot. It is a quiet act of reclamation. A man who never learned to read is now witnessing the future his family is building. Our identities are not just passed down. They are reshaped in moments like this, with presence, pride, and quiet strength.
