Wind Ensemble

The Wind Ensemble is the top tier concert band at Whitney Young. Members of this ensemble apply their skills and knowledge to advanced repertoire and new works. The students work with professional musicians on a weekly basis and develop their leadership skills in small ensembles. The class receives honors credit.

A major trip is taken every other year. The Wind Ensemble has traveled to perform in Detroit, Indianapolis, the Crescent City Music Festival in New Orleans, Carnegie Hall in New York City, the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, and at the Los Angeles International Music Festival.
