The Rattery

Our rats are spoiled rotten here at White Rose with their own room and spacious cages. We currently use a "Quad Critter Nation" which is two Double Critter Nation's attached together so that the rats have more horizontal space. The boys and girls have one each so that they have a lot of room with deeper dig boxes that drop down into the base. 

They have plenty baskets and plastic hides to keep them comfortable, along with chews, tunnels and wheels for play time. We use a custom acrylic base pan filled with kiln-dried pine shavings for bedding.

Our breeding and maternity cages consist of a Ferplast Mary and a Savic Hamster Heaven which measure 80x50cm. These cages are mainly used for our litters and nursing mothers, as the bar spacing is small so babies won't be able to escape. When babies are separated by sex, they join the other rats in their respective cages.
