Mullagh Hill

Line Drawings

Line drawings of Mullagh Hill and the cross which was erected there by the people of Mullagh during the Marian Year 1954.

The drawings also show the cairn which is believed to exist under the hill.

A cairn is a mound of rough stones built typically on a hilltop or skyline which may have served as a burial site in the past.

Large scale construction of Mullagh Hill made from sheets of wood and paint

Above, we have collaborative creations of celtic crosses using celtic symbols and images. These are imaginative pieces reflecting the work done by the pupils on the local hill with its religious cross.

The two large wooden pieces each stand at a height of 1.5 metres. The pupils stuck on clay tiles and painted celtic motifs on each to produce these very colourful and eye-catching high crosses.
