In order to study chess properly, and also to play in leagues and tournaments, you need to be able to read and write chess moves. There are a few ways to record chess moves, but on this site we will be using standard algebraic notation, which is the notation required by FIDE (the international chess federation).

With the exception of the knight, each piece is represented by the first letter of its name, capitalised. Knight starts with the same letter as king, so for the knights we use the letter N instead. When we record a move, we record the piece that is being moved, and the square that the piece is being moved to. For example:

To test your knowledge, here are some complete games to play through. You can use the arrows to navigate through the game, or you can click on individual moves in the notation below to see that move on the board. If you're feeling confident, you could take out a real chess set and try to play through each game without using the online board.

If you don't find a move request for the user in the on-premises or Exchange Online organizations, and you still receive an error message (user is already being moved), you will have to manually clean up the move references for that user from your on-premises Active Directory container.

If the move request was successfully removed from Exchange Online (that is, you don't find it by running Get-MoveRequest in Exchange Online PowerShell) but the msExchMailboxMoveRemoteHostName attribute is set, this suggests that the move reference was not cleared up correctly from on-premises Active Directory. In this scenario, you have an orphaned move request for that user.

MMAB is an attempt to imagine mining as an enclosed ecosystem, where the material has multiple functions and uses, as it is turned into buildings, roads and cities. Nowak looks at sand as a living entity more than as a material that is moved from one place to another, cycling through a variety of life stages from solid forms to sandiness, airiness and finally water. The city, built from these materials, encapsulates space and time in something new and visible, while leaving a void somewhere else.

Nearly three-fourths of teachers in schools closed due to the coronavirus say they are still providing some instruction to their students, according to a nationally representative survey administered online by the Education Week Research Center on March 24 and 25. Sixty percent say they are assigning and collecting student work online, and more than a third are using digital tools to teach live classes.

Should districts seek to maintain continuity and offer structure, by moving as much of the normal school day as possible online? Or should they embrace uncertainty and prioritize flexibility, by being as responsive as they can to the ever-shifting demands of an escalating emergency?

According to the Education Week Research Center survey, 37 percent of teachers said they had interacted with students at least once per day since their school was closed due to the coronavirus, while 16 percent said they had not interacted with their students at all. In the same survey, the vast majority of district leaders said that at least some of their students are able to access digital content via an online learning e system. But more than half of those same leaders said they were not able to provide online learning opportunities to all students.

On the ground, remote learning in some communities has been limited to photocopied worksheets. In at least seven states, teachers are delivering lessons on public television via school district partnerships with local PBS affiliates. Other districts have focused on curating and distributing links to free online learning sites such as Khan Academy. In some schools, teachers are posting lessons and homework assignments to learning platforms such as Canvas or Google Classroom, where students can also upload their work. Elsewhere, schools are focused on maintaining social connections among staff and students, encouraging them to meet during virtual office hours or share photos on Seesaw.

Four days later, the federal education department released a fact sheet clarifying its earlier stance. By then, however, Philadelphia had already switched gears, moving to offer supplemental, nonmandatory online learning materials while getting as many digital devices, mobile hot-spots, and paper packets out to students as possible.

Absent clear direction or guidance, thousands of districts across the country have pursued similar equity-related approaches. The 600-student Reardon-Edwall School District in northern Washington started sending its school buses along their regular routes to deliver paper lessons to students. The 82,000-student Austin Independent School District in Texas began adding Wi-Fi connectivity on more than 500 school buses, so that they can be used as roving hot spots to help students get online. In Boulder, Colo., school administrators rushed to translate online materials into multiple languages. In New York City, teachers worked quickly to make online lessons more accessible, through accommodations such as audio-recorded instructions.

We are using Google Apps and GASMO was working fine. One of our teams recently started working with another company on a project and in order to add their Exchange server accounts into our Outlook, we had to use IMAP with our Google Apps. Now, one user is experiencing an issue where whenever she moves an email from her inbox to a folder, that email becomes unread, even though it was read in inbox. Any ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Also, log into your webmail. There may be emails marked read on outlook that were actually unread on webmail. After marking all the unread emails as read in webmail everything should update on outlook.

I realize this is a very old topic, but it is an ongoing issue for many people and answers just don't seem to be out there. I had several users, with either Outlook 2013 or 2016, reporting that messages marked as 'read' would become 'unread' after being moved to a different folder. I have gotten this to stop by adjusting the account settings. Where it says 'Mail to keep offline: All," change it to anything else. We have set ours to 12 months.

Thank you for posting that. Ours had started doing the same thing, and I found your post while online looking for a fix for it. Tried it, and it worked!! You're a lifesaver. Thanks for figuring out a fix when no one else has been able to.

A PDF is a digital representation of the print book, so while it can be loaded into most e-reader programs, it doesn't allow for resizable text or advanced, interactive functionality. The eBook is optimized for e-reader devices and apps, which means that it offers a much better digital reading experience than a PDF, including resizable text and interactive features (when available).

Had a user fall for a phishing attack. User only has basic permissions and no local admin. 10 minutes later they told me and I changed their password in the O365 Admin Center. I noticed during that 10 min. time they uploaded a file the users person SharePoint folder and sent out a few emails with a link to it. I removed the file, and the user emailed those people.

The problem is when new emails come in to that user, they get marked as read and moved to the delete folder within 2 seconds; via Exchange Message Trace. All other users are fine. I assumed it was an Outlook rule problem and removed all rules then started Outlook in Safe mode with no change. Created a new Outlook profile with no change. Closed Outlook and used OWA but no change. Computer has been scanned and nothing came up.
