Installed 6.4.3.2 (64-bit) couple weeks ago and was working fine until now. This has been happening for the last 2 days for me in writer. Have 12GB RAM free. Have noticed a couple of unusual things though

You can open multiple windows, including the same document, but those views are not synchronized (changes in one aren't reflected in the other). Each window reflects the version of the document as last saved. So if it is adequate for your purpose to refer to old, static contents in a second window, that can be a partial solution.

But remember, any changes you make in one window and save will supersede what you're looking at in the other window. If you work in two areas of the same document in two different windows, you risk losing half of your work when you save either one.

The multiple windows thing works now. The changes appear instantaneously in the other window. It is a bit silly having all the rest of the gubbins with the menus and bars just to get a split but it does the job.

I have also tested on several computers:

Laptops with a Intel HD graphic card, computer with Nvidia graphic card, laptop with nvidia graphic card all same problem.

I have also installed on a new computer only Windows 11, the drivers and only libreoffice: same problem.

The problem is not with Windows 10, only with Windows 11. On the dutch forum they ask also for the drivers, i will check the drivers again en let it know.

keme, thanks for your input. I did all the things that John_Ha reccomends back in 2015, and I rebuild my desktop index at least once a year, usually more often than that. So whatever the problem is, it is not one that this solves. One thing I have not done is a fix via iFilter, suggested by the final comment in your link. Had the same problem. No Libreoffice program would let me copy text into the clipboard.

What you can do is start the windows task manager and end background processes one at a time, re-open the file with libreoffice and try to copy and paste a piece of text from it to notepad for example, and see after which ended process it starts working again.

For me it was the process kleopatra.exe, which is an encryption software that was causing the problem.

I tried to mount the windows share by following the instructions here: =5&t=73353

I ended up with the following error:

mount error(115): Operation now in progress

Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs)

which looks like a bug in Debian testing as per this link: -mount-windows-share-anymore-from-debian-linux (although my version of cifs-tools is different)
