Sustainability

As you might know, aviation is one of the fastest growing sources of carbon emissions. A flight from Paris to Philadelphia emits around 1.9 tones of CO2, which is roughly the total emissions per person per year that we should aim for to respect the Paris Agreement. While we accept these emissions in the name of scientific collaboration, we encourage you to minimize and/or compensate your environmental footprint in the consortium.

Please consider offsetting your flight emissions. There are many websites which allow you to do this, such as this one or this one. During the conference, you can also minimize your carbon footprint by choosing vegetarian meals or limiting energy consumption.
