We are currently the proud supporter of 12 organizations across the Greater Toronto Area! Through these partnerships, we are able to support children with special needs, children in hospitals, LGBTQ+ youth, and more! We provide donations of toy pods and care pods customized to meet each organization's unique needs.
Hospitals are often in need of toys, books, and arts/crafts supplies which they give to their pediatric patients as birthday/holiday gifts or as rewards for completing a difficult operation. We are proud to be able to support these needs for some of our local hospitals!
One of our newest initiatives involves partnering with neurology and geriatrics departments to provide activity kits ("cognitive care pods") to elderly patients with dementia to help keep them cognitively stimultated while in hospital! Cognitive stimulation has been shown to reduce behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia, and can help prevent the development of delirium while hospitalized.
Many special education centres are non-profit organizations and therefore benefit greatly from receiving donations of toys, books, and arts/crafts supplies that are specifically suited for children with special needs. We work with a number of local organizations to provide them with the supplies they need to continue providing their amazing services and programming for youth with special needs!
We've partnered with local 2SLGBTQIA youth support centres to provide queer youth with access to our gender-affirming care pods, filled with pride merchandise, personal hygiene products, snacks, self-care items, and more!
Although our mission is primarily to provide children in need with items that bring them joy, we also take pride in contributing to the community at large in broader ways as well. Food is a human necessity, and we have partnered with our local food bank to help provide it for those in need.
Through our Courage Pods program, we provide child cancer warriors all over Canada and the United States with personalized Courage Pods containing $100 to $200 worth of items including toys/games, books, arts and crafts supplies, plushies, snacks, and more! Nominators are asked to provide information such as the child's favourite colours, animals, and characters/books/shows, as well as any specific items the child would love to receive, and we use all of this info to create a Courage Pod that is perfect for them! In contrast to our partnerships with local organizations, the Courage Pods program is a way for us to have a direct impact on individual children and to expand our reach beyond our local community.
