National Organization for Women Grand Rapids Chapter

Mission Statement: NOW chapters focus on six priority issues including reproductive rights, ending sex discrimination/constitutional equality, promoting diversity and ending racism, economic justice, stopping violence against women, and LGBTQIA rights. Our chapter welcomes new members to help fight for women’s rights on the local and national level.

While the Sunrise Movement is not strictly a women's movement, we know through the study of intersectionality that women and children are most likely to make up those living in poverty. Those living under the poverty line are who feel the effects of climate change first. The Sunrise Movement seeks to tackle the climate change issue.

Mission Statement: The Sunrise Movement is a youth movement to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process. We’re building an army of young people to make climate change an urgent priority across America, end the corrupting influence of fossil fuel executives on our politics, and elect leaders who stand up for the health and wellbeing of all people.
