What is feminist theory?

Taking this course has opened my eyes to everything that feminist theory can be. To me, feminist theory is the development of sets of theoretical and intellectual frameworks that seek to analyze, discuss, and describe issues of gender inequality. Feminist theory provides us with possible answers to how systems of oppression work and interact with one another. By studying and explaining the systems behind gender inequality, feminist theory provides us with the background knowledge to actually change these systems of inequality through action.
