This was my first "cold call" - going to a point on the property of someone I didn't know and had no connection to whatsoever. I had no idea what kind of reception I'd get when I attempted to explain the rather unusual reason that I was knocking on their door. It turned out I had nothing to worry about as Ed and Helen Snyder were very hospitable and had no problem at all with my taking a few pictures on their property. In fact, they have a rental property downtown with a barn with a slate roof that Ed had been intending to get a picture of as he has someone in New Hampshire who is interested in taking the roof. Ed asked me if I'd be willing to take a few pictures of it and email them which of course I was more than happy to do.
Originally I thought the point was on their driveway, but it turned out to be on (under?) a stone wall separating their property from the neighbors.
