Peoples and Races

These are the races that in habit the Old World, and are thus welcome in Bastion. A few isolated tribes of native creatures are not actively hostile to the denizens of Bastion, but only these races are permitted safe harbor within its walls under normal circumstances, and they make up the overwhelming majority of those who venture forth for adventure or plunder.

However, in many nations one race or another might have economic or political superiority, even while in a neighboring nation the reverse may be true. A few nations are ethnic purists, only granting citizenship or other privileges like free movement or ownership of real property for specific races or even sub-races. Where some places consider elven blood a mark of nobility, others might consider it a brand of base, servile origin.
