Safe-opening for Pickleball Play at Greystone Field
Under Massachusetts’ Phase 4 Re-opening Standards, and in conjunction with the Town of Westford Parks & Recreation Dept., and the Town Health Director - pickleball at Greystone Field each week, starting Monday, April 5, 2021.
The procedures to be followed for pickleball (“PB”) play at Greystone which help comply with Massachusetts’ Phase 2 and Phase 3 hygiene and physical distancing standards.
Players must sign up in advance using the Sign-Up-Genius app (“SUG”):

Players should UN-SIGN from SUG if their plans change.
Phone numbers will be collected at SignUp in case of emergency or need for contact tracing.
SUG will have an 32-player limit to each Time Slot.
Players who show up but have not signed up in SUG will be denied play, unless there are no-shows among enrollees.
We will use up to 6 PB courts during the State’s Phase 4, to ensure physical distancing
Inside the tennis court, we use 4 PB courts.
The 5th and 6th PB courts to use will be inside the adjacent basketball court.
BRING YOUR OWN: paddle + balls, + face covering, + hand sanitizer / wipes, as well as any water bottle & chair. Preferred PBalls are: Franklin X40.
Players are to practice physical distancing and follow CDC guidelines regarding personal hygiene, and masks will be optional. Bring a mask - if your partner asks you to wear a mask, please comply.
First and foremost, we need to continue to practice the social distancing and sanitation practices in accordance with the CDC and State of MA standards.
Use sanitizer to clean your hands and equipment when you arrive at the courts.
When erecting and dismantling portable nets, persons are to wear face coverings & sanitize their hands before & afterwards.
Sanitize your hands and equipment thoroughly before and after each match.
Masks are optional during play. If your partner wears a mask and asks you to wear one during that game, please comply. People are asked to wear masks when not playing if they cannot maintain 6' of distance.
Each person is to bring their own ball onto the court, marked with their name / initials.
When it is your turn to serve, use your ball(s), the other players will use their paddle / foot to push your ball back to you.
Avoid touching the ball unless you are serving.
Honor physical distancing while waiting to play.
No high 5’s nor paddle touching after games.
Do not touch other players’ equipment paddle, balls, chairs, water bottles.
Arrive when it is your scheduled time to play.
Leave the courts promptly when your scheduled Time Slot is complete.
Do not linger at the courts.
Remain outside the fenced areas until participants from the first session have vacated the courts.
Do not play if you:
Are exhibiting any symptoms of the Coronavirus: mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, coughing, difficulty breathing, or other symptoms identified by the CDC.
Have been in contact with someone with COVID‐19 in the last 14 days.
Are uncomfortable with any of the above procedures.
Please be respectful to each other; we all want to have fun playing outdoor activities with healthy practices.
And, the key holders who open and oversee each Scheduled Session are volunteers.
They want to ensure we all have an enjoyable and safe experience playing PB at Greystone, and we ask that you be respectful of their guidance.
