Adventure Trips

YOUTH ADVENTURE CAMPING TRIPS:

These trips are led by Westfield Ultimate Coaches and guest chaperones who has chaperoned or organized over 45 youth overnight camping trips over the years.   We rent out a part of Camp Tecumseh which is a weekday sleep away camp.  We use their wilderness site which includes tent camping, running water, and cooking over a fire and grill.  However, since we rent it out on the weekend when camp is not in session, we utilize their facilities including boating on the their lake, swimming in a swimming pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, open sports fields, etc.  In addition, we usually run a day trip as part of the trip usually rafting on the Delaware!

SUMMER 2024 TRIPS:

• Trip #1 - August 9-12, 2024

• Trip #2 - August 16-19, 2024

This trip is designed for the beginning to intermediate camper.  While we camp in tents, we cook over the fire or on a grill.  However, we are just 150 yards from a summer camp site so we go swimming in an in-ground pool, boating on a lake, use their sports fields for Ultimate/soccer, and use their tennis courts for tennis/basketball/pickleball.  We also play a lot of spikeball/kanjam at our campsite, utilize their 18 hole disc golf course, and go fishing in their lakes and ponds.

YOUTH TEEN TRAVEL DAY TRIPS:

Run through Westfield YMCA, these trips are lead by Westfield Ultimate Coaches and guest chaperones.  The trips are designed to be day or night trips to various spots around NJ, PA, and NY usually to amusement parks.

SPRING 2024 Trips:

• Trip #1 - Tuesday, May 28th - Dorney Park (Snow Return Day From School) - Registration Link (opening early April)

All Trips have concluded, we will run some of these next year as well!

EDUCATIONAL STEAM TRIP:

Run through Westfield Public Schools, the coaches of Westfield Ultimate and fellow Westfield Public School teachers and staff run the only school sponsored overnight trip for middle school students.   These trips are for EIS or RIS students who apply and are academcially eligible.  The trips generally see a ton of ultimate players sign up for.   Each year, the trip changes and we have been to Orlando for Universal Studios and Disney's Educational programs and tours, Cape Canaveral for Kennedy Space Center, Huntsville for Space Camp, Nashville for lessons on music and math, and more.

Winter 2025 TRIPS:

• 7th Grade - Approx - Feb 28- March 3, 2025 - Space Camp in Huntsville, AL

• 8th Grade - Approx - Feb 1 - Feb 4, 2025 - Universal Studios and Kennedy Space Center in Orlando, FL

YOUTH DAY SKI AND SNOWBOARD TRIPS:

Run through Westfield YMCA, these trips are lead by Westfield Ultimate Coaches and guest chaperones.  The trips are designed to be day trips to Catskill Ski Resorts or night trips to local Pocono Ski Resorts.

WINTER 2024 Trips:

1. Friday, January 26th - afterschool until close for night skiing at Camelback Mountain

2. Friday, February 16th - full day (no school) for skiing at Blue Mountain

3. Sunday, March 10th - full day trip to Belleayre Mountain
