Head Coach: Juliet Lancaster Avila

Coach Lancaster Avila's competitive swimming career began at the age of 10 at Green-Fields Swim Club in West Deptford.  She went on to compete for West Deptford High as well as the Gloucester County YMCA, alongside Coach McKeever, until she graduated in 1994.  While in high school, Coach Lancaster Avila held records at the school, county, and south Jersey level, some of which still stand today.  She also competed in the YMCA Nationals in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida for three consecutive years.  After high school, Coach swam for Rider University in Lawrenceville, NJ where she was a Mid Atlantic Athletic Conference champion in multiple events and a top finisher in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship for all four years.  Because of her accomplishments, Coach Lancaster Avila was named Rider's MVP for three years and was elected to be one of the team's co-captains as a senior.  Post graduation, Coach Lancaster Avila was inducted into three different Halls of Fame for her contribution to the sport of swimming.  Right out of college, in 1998, Coach Lancaster Avila took on the role of assistant swim coach at Highland High School and stayed there for three years. Upon the completion of Timber Creek High School, Highland's sister school, Coach Lancaster Avila was appointed to the head coach position at Timber Creek where she led the team to a division title in 2005.  She remained at Timber Creek for four years until she reluctantly gave up the position in order to stay at home with her first child.  Then in 2008, the head coach position for the girls' swimming and diving team at West Deptford High School opened up. Coach Lancaster Avila jumped at the chance to return to her old alma mater.  She coached the girls' team for two years until becoming head coach of the boys and girls' co-ed team when the teams combined in 2010.  Coach Lancaster Avila is the mother of two daughters who are both avid swimmers.  Juggling being a stay-at-home mom and a high school coach has been a challenge, but she wouldn't have it any other way.  Go Eagles!
