“If you don’t know exactly where you’re going, how will you know when you get there?”
― Steve Maraboli
My husband Ricky and I have been married for 23 years. Together we have four children, three grandchildren, and three dogs. We enjoy traveling together whenever time allows. Things I enjoy most, away from the classroom, are continuing my education, time with our grandchildren, and crafting.

I am a driven educator aspiring to transition into an administrative role within your esteemed educational system. Guided by a visionary approach, I firmly advocate for the establishment of a nurturing environment—a 'safety nest'—where students can flourish and thrive, recognizing its pivotal role in fostering attendance and academic growth.
I place a strong emphasis on cultivating a clear and compelling vision for faculty members, understanding its profound impact on shaping programs of excellence. With a natural inclination towards community-building and encouragement, I acknowledge the paramount importance of fostering a sense of belonging among faculty, staff, and students within the educational ecosystem. Establishing a cohesive community within the school's walls serves as the foundation for fostering meaningful relationships with external stakeholders and the broader community.
Recognizing the indispensability of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs in preparing students for the future, I am deeply committed to their integration within our educational system. I firmly believe that these programs not only equip students with practical skills but also open doors to a multitude of opportunities. This conviction drove my active involvement in the planning process for our new STEM Center at DA Smith Middle School.
In embracing this educational philosophy, I am committed to fostering an environment where educators transcend the traditional role of imparting knowledge for a day, instead, serving as catalysts for lifelong learning and growth.
A sample lesson allowing students to choose their best ideas to demonstrate their learning of the content taught. Students were given a choice in the format in which they presented their knowledge, therefore engaging them in the entire process because from the beginning they felt set up for success and in control of their learning.
