It's a long time since I updated this page.

Things have been happening in the background though. Not least of all carols by candlelight when Simonne led our carol singing and Derek and Ken showed us through candles the message of the birth of Jesus. Here's a glimpse, as you can see the sun shone brightly!

I am pleased to report how successful the Trade Exhibition turned out to be. The stand was eye catching and we had an amazing amount of christian folk from the area join us to help chat with folk.

The crossword was very popular and gave us an opportunity to encourage everyone to stop and have a go, engaging them in conversations about Jesus. The object lessons were popular too and promoted further ways of being able to chat with folk.

All in all an extremely worth while day sharing Jesus with those who otherwise may not ever talk about Him.

Checkout the facebook page to see a few of the photo's.

Something different, B&B. Not quite what you think, but breakfast & Bobby. Yes we had a great morning with Bobby playing both his guitar and the piano while we enjoyed breakfast and praised the Lord.

We were back at Campillo y Suertes for our carol service this year and it was such an enjoyable morning.I think everyone agreed that we praised the Lord and at the same time had a lot of fun and fellowship, a very informative but relaxing morning, I even enjoyed the carols! We discovered that God has a sense of humour and whilst He expects us to be respectful in our worship His wish is that we have a special relationship with Him in which we can enjoy His company. I am only sorry that once again I forgot to take the photographs!

Wow! another baptism Praise the Lord you can see it here.

What an amazing time we had at the medieval banquet see here everyone's generosity was overwhelming. There were those who gave of their time forgoing being able to relax and enjoy the evening and there was a grand total raised to be donated to MABS. Folk really entered into the spirit by dressing in medieval costume and I was amazed how all seemed to enjoy the murder mystery, The Choir were stupendous and even though they sang in Spanish no one seemed to mind they were so melodious.

That was Saturday but it was followed on Sunday by a very special believers baptism . For those of you who have never experienced this type of baptism you can check it out here God has been very good.

We were pleased recently to be able to share in fellowship with old and new friends joining us to hear our guest speaker, Stuart Howarth, he always brings us food for thought and such encouragement. Afterwards we were able to catch up on everyone's news over lunch and spending a relaxing afternoon getting to know new folk who joined us. A great start to our more relaxing summer program. See here for some pictures

Once again a busy time this Easter with folk attending all events , the crossword was enjoyed and there were only two clues that were unanswered, we were able to chat with a couple visiting the area hoping to move in the near future and various folk at the bar.over coffee and hot cross buns, it was a good outreach and we had lovely warm sunshine. Alfonso arrived early on Sunday morning and so we were able to have everything prepared and set out in time for early morning communion followed by 11 am celebrations. A time of blessing for us all.

We were grateful to the folk who arrived early for our annual carol service this year to help get the room ready. There were a good number of us to sing our praises and it was good that others were willing to take part with readings and in helping Derek to put the nativity scene together. We had a few technical hitches and the sheep was insistent on putting it's re end in the air to which Derek was completely oblivious but we got there in the end.

Afterwards a few folk stopped for lunch and it was good to share fellowship socially, you can view pictures here

On Sunday we introduced cafe fellowship where a few of us joined together over coffee and cakes, it was an opportunity to get to know each other better, sing some songs and praise the Lord in a very relaxed and informal way.

You can view pictures here of the Remembrance Service at The Alandalus on the 11th of November we were pleased to have some members from The Royal British Legion join us when they presented the Standard for the Murcia branch.

Our summer concert, hot though it was we enjoyed a pleasant evening being entertained by Chris Milner a folk singer from the Uk. Thanks to Open Door for bringing him to us.Afterwards we were able to share i a simple meal together and to cement friendships. It was good to see new faces.

We were pleased to welcome back Bobby from Ireland for our gathering on 21st May, he has a wonderful voice and led the music worship with his amazing musical talents. Once again we were at the Alandalus.

What a joyous Easter a busy time this year with various celebrations' We started on Maundy Thursday with a Passover meal and discovered some of the Jewish history whilst enjoying the evening together in a relaxed and comfortable manner.

Good Friday was the Easter Parade a follow on from the Bethlehem walk, several folk took part and I think we all felt at the end that we had played a part in remembering just how much Jesus did for us all. Bill was our special effects and music director and as usual most professional. We ended the morning with more music to listen to while we enjoyed hot cross buns and coffee in the lovely Spanish sunshine. It seemed no one was in too much of a hurry to leave.

Easter Sunday at the Alandalus began with our communion, leading in to our normal gathering at which Andrew spoke. All in all an enjoyable weekend when we were able to get together and celebrate all that the Lord has done for us. You can view some of the pictures here

Following the success of the Remembrance day service at the Alandalus we decided to use the same venue this year for our Carol Service.

What a morning it absolutely poured with rain, however it didn't deter folk from joining us and we pray that you were blessed by the service and the singing. Alfonso was there early and had lit the fire for us to warm everywhere up Afterwards folk sat chatting with their coffees and I believe some even stayed for a bite to eat. Watch this space for more events at the Alandalus.

The beginning of November saw the Remembrance day service, a new venue for us at the Alandalus where we were warmly welcomed and Alfonso did all he could to help make everything run smoothly. We had been apprehensive not knowing what to expect. There were between 25 to 30 folk who attended, we held a two minute silence followed by a poem and video with songs and of course a talk. It was good to see men proud and rightly so too wearing their medals obtained for the things that they were involved in .As always there was a time of fellowship and getting to know new folk over a coffee afterwards. Thank you to all who attended, there are a few pictures of the event here.

You can read the latest news on our card class here when we started preparing for Christmas and the men all joined us for lunch. A great day.

October saw us celebrating Harvest you can see our display here sadly we were only a handful of folk but from all corners of the world as far as Australia in fact. Our speaker was Stuart Howarth who once again brought his message to us, it was an uplifting and challenging morning.

The MABS event, Theater and lunch was a great success thank you to all who supported us. The sun shone and The actors were amazing and just so natural the food wonderful and the silent auction raised a princely sum. Hopefully I will soon have some photos for you to view

We started Easter on Good Friday down at the port in Mazzeron sharing a time of witness with other churches joining together and taking part. It was led by Wellspring church with much singing.

Sunday we had our praise and rejoicing service at Welcome House culminating in communion.

So far we have celebrated Mothers Day and are already in the throws of preparing for Easter.

This week saw the Easter Flower Demonstration and Coffee morning folk have kindly sent me some of their photographs which you can view here

The last of the Christmas celebrations -Visit of the Magi - normally on the 6th of January when the wise men paid homage to the new born king, not in the manger as is portrayed but in a house where the family were living. Being the first Sunday of a new year it was fitting that we shared communion at the Lord's table and recommitted ourselves for the year ahead. Afterwards we enjoyed coffee and of course the special cake they always have here in Spain. Derek managed to gt the bean again this year- not too sure what that means. Here you will be able to view some pictures

Christmas Day began with our morning service when a small group of us celebrated the birth of Jesus and remembered the true reasons behind all the celebrations. before spending the rest of the day with family and friends

6th December The Bethlehem Walk

We woke to a rather dismal start to the day weather wise all the chairs needed to be wiped down after a heavy dew, the boiler wasn't working and we couldn't get the portable stove to light and the soup hadn't defrosted not deterred we carried on, after all the preparations we were sure that everything would be fine and of course it was. I eventually managed to get a hot shower & Derek got the stove to work.

The musicians arrived and while they were setting everything up we all enjoyed some mulled wine, sin alcohol of course.

The sun had started to come out and we set off on our walk, directed by the centurion to go to our home town to register, with background sound effects, we spoke with various biblical characters and ended with the shepherd presenting a lamb and the soldier who presented his medals to the baby Jesus in the manger, a very moving moment.

Soup, rolls, mince pies and more mulled wine while everyone either sang or listened to Sammy and Bobby playing and singing for us, what wonderful voices they had.

In all an enjoyable morning celebrating the birth of the baby Jesus, even if it was a little early, and we were right it turned out to be a beautiful day, God truly blessed us. Enjoy some of the pictures here

Here you will be able to peruse some of the pictures taken at our hosted events.

This summer was hot in more ways than one

The Paul Poulton Project sang Christian songs regae style with some secular music mixed in at half time we enjoyed the BBQ the men had slaved over in the heat. It was good to see some new faces.

Lorraine Poulton entertained the ladies at the coffee morning with her demonstration on style and makeup management.

The children's Sunday gathering turned out to be lively with a few surprises.

Tuesday fellowship continued with a few more of us, there being some holiday makers too.

Our most recent gathering was a Harvest festival with the harvest loaf, afterwards we enjoyed some harvast bread and soup despite it being very warm. It was a joyful time.

Sunday 2nd November we celebrated 2 years as Welcome House with thanks giving and communion. Those who came up from the coast stayed for lunch, which made the day even more special. Sadly I forgot to take any photographs!!!

Something different a Floral Demonstration entitled 'The Christmas Story' depicted in flowers and complimented with music and entertaining prose by Debra and of course the inevitable coffee & cake . This time I remembered to take some pictures click Here if you would like to view

Christmas continues with our carol service when we explored the meaning of The Jesse Tree, sang some traditional carols and heard what Charlie Brown had to say about The Glorious Night. You can listen to this upbeat carol by following the link.

Mothering Sunday, the first of our Sunday gatherings after a protracted brake and it was good to see everyone again, of course the ladies went away with a posy of flowers to mark the day and it seemed fitting for us to share in communion also.

Its a while since I updated this page but that doesn't mean nothing has been happening quite the contrary.

Easter Sunday was well attended and as usual we had coffee and Hot cross buns afterward.

We have had a fellowship lunch after one of our Sunday gatherings before some of the folk that join us whilst on holiday returned home this month and again to welcome this month to welcome folk back from the UK.

At Our last gathering we dedicated our new television to the Lord's service a donation to Welcome House by some very kind and generous friends. Thank you both.

I was so busy trying to work out all the controls ( for those of you not in the know we haven't had TV for many years) that once again I forgot to take pictures sorry.

Our Family SUNDAY was once again very lively with the young folk taking part. Derek told us about God in a Box you might like to watch this link on you tube

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-AXSvm-m_w

We all enjoyed the BBQ that Derek cooked and there was fun in the pool while some played volleyball, difficult for the male side as they were in deep water.

Hopefully I might have some pictures to share.
