welcome house

About us

As a Christian couple we arrived to live in Cehegin to discover that there seemed to be no English speaking Christian Fellowship to be found anywhere in the area, so we took it upon ourselves to open up our home and welcome folk to join us in sharing the good news of Jesus.

Matthew 18 verse 20 tells us 'For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.

We started by holding a coffee morning which led to a number of concerts two of which were led by Rhythm & Joy with Dave Scott Morgan formally from Electric Light Orchestra, his wife Mandy and Alan on the Key board entertained us with their music which expressed where they are now in their christian walk, there was a BBQ enjoyed by all and some rock music catering for all tastes.

Since then we have held various events which included Remembrance Day Services and of course carols at Christmas time, The Bethlehem Walk and an Easter parade.

Our endeavors have been encouraged and supported by Open Door fellowship who's aim is to encourage and embrace unity.

We now meet most Sundays for worship and are privileged to often have a visiting speaker, also on Tuesday mornings for Bible Study, and on the second Wednesday of each month we have a workshop creating greeting cards, difficult to find here in Spain.

Further down the line we haven't felt the need for a church building as such, after all the new testament has many references (book of Acts & 1 Corinthians 16:19) to church being started in the homes. At the moment we are a small group who gather together freely and informally. Sometimes we share a meal together, it is not our intention for any one person to take charge, rather we hope that those who join us will feel free to contribute to the gathering. We have folk join us from all denominations and all walks of life to gossip the good news of Jesus. It is our prayer that everyone will feel at ease and enjoy christian fellowship.
