At AnyMotion Lab, we are pioneering the future of wearables, exoskeletons, and human motion simulation. Utilizing cutting-edge AI, musculoskeletal simulation, and wearable sensing, we analyze and predict movement to design smarter, safer devices that enhance human capability and mobility.
Our lab recently had the privilege of participating in the NJIT STEMx program, an initiative designed to give high school students hands-on exposure to cutting-edge science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
We delivered an interactive guest lecture on Wearable Robotics, introducing students to modern exoskeletons. Doris and Jerry also led two live interactive demonstrations for the students:
Active Low-Back Exoskeleton: A physical demo highlighting how powered assist systems offload spinal forces during lifting tasks to prevent injury and reduce physical fatigue.
IMU-Based Human Arm Motion Tracking: A demonstration showcasing how Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) track joint angles and spatial motion in real time for kinematic estimation and wearable robot control.

Our paper, “Towards Promoting Industrial Exoskeleton Adoption: A Survey Study on New Jersey Warehouse Workers,” was selected as a Best Paper Finalist.
Our second paper, “Prototyping a Cost-Effective Pressure Insole System for Occupational Safety and Health,” received the Best Track Paper Award in the Human Factors and Ergonomics Track.
We are also proud to be co-authors of “Investigating the Influence of Different Media Formats on Tornado Risk Communication Through Eye-Tracking Data,” which received the Best Track Paper Award Runner-Up.
