Grants
Co-Principal Investigator
Principles of Calculus -- An eBook. Funded as an invited project by the California Learning Lab. This project aims to improve the accessibility of the deliverables of A New Mathematics Gateway. I direct the academic content of the program and am lead author.
Opinion Piece related to the program.
Amount: $50,000
Spring 2025 - Spring 2026
Principal Investigator (joint with Principal Investigator Yat Sun Poon at UCR)
'A New Mathematics Gateway', a grant funded by the California Learning Lab. I direct the academic content of the program, am lead author, and mentor (and academically collaborate with) our two co-PIs from the California Community Colleges. This program has led to the program 'The Principles of Calculus'. The UCR implementation of this course is the new Math 5ABC sequence.
Amount: $1,275,000.
Spring 2021 - Fall 2024
Co-Principal Investigator
ILTI grant for a Calculus for Life Science I & II course. My role was to develop online office hours and instruct graduate students in online teaching.
Amount: $220,000.
Start date: Spring 2017
Co-Principal Investigator
ILTI grant to develop a hybrid online precalculus class for students with low placement scores. I played an instrumental role in the grant writing and submission, as well as negotions over funding. This grant led to the Math 6AB program.
Amount: $220,000.
Start date: Spring 2017
Principal Investigator
ILTI grant to develop a replacement for a precalculus class to be run in-person or fully synchronously online. This led to the replacement of the UCR's former Math 5 course with a new Math 5 course.
Amount: $110,000.
Start date: Spring 2016
