Short bio
Olga Cantó is a Professor of Economics at the Universidad de Alcalá and coordinator of the Master's in Applied Economic Analysis (MAEA) focused on tools for Public Policy Evaluation. She holds a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute in Florence in 1998 and has worked as a lecturer on Public Economics at the University of Vigo and as a Senior Researcher at the Spanish Institute for Fiscal Studies. Since 2021, she has been Editor in Chief of the JCR-Q1 journal “Applied Economics Analysis”, a member of the Board of the European Network for Social Policy Analysis (ESPANET), a member of the Counselling Committee of the Spanish Fiscal Responsibility Authority (AIReF) and a member of the Counselling Committee on Economic Affairs of the Spanish Ministry of Economy. Her main research interests span from the general theory and measurement of well-being to the static and dynamic of the income distribution (inequality and poverty), the intergenerational transmission of opportunities and the distributional impact of fiscal and social policies.
