Olga Cantó Sánchez
Research interests: Income and Wage Mobility, Poverty Dynamics, Intergenerational Transmission of Opportunities, Child Poverty, Public Policy Redistributive Effects using Microsimulation
I am Associate Professor at the Department of Economics of the Universidad de Alcalá (Spain). I obtained my Ph.D. at the European University Institute (EUI, Florence) and my main research interests span from the general theory and measurement of well-being to the statics and dynamics of the income distribution, poverty, inequality, the intergenerational transmission of opportunities, gender discrimination in the labour market and fiscal + social policy evaluation using microsimulation techniques such as EUROMOD.
I am a member of the research group on inequality and poverty EQUALITAS, main researcher in WEIPO (Well-being, inEquality, Poverty and public pOlicy group) and external resercher at ECOSOT.
I currently teach a master course on "Economics of Well-being, Inequality and Poverty" in the Master in Applied Economic Analysis (MAEA, Universidad de Alcalá) and on "Child Poverty" in the Master in Social Policy for Children and Adolescents (Universidad Complutense de Madrid). I am a member of the scientific commitee for the Workshop on Public Policies: Inequality of opportunity, Barcelona 2020 and session organizer at the 36th IARIW General Conference, Oslo, Norway, August 24-28, 2020, see sessions here.
