Welcome to my personal webpage! 

I am Professor of Economics at the Universidad de Alcalá (Spain). I obtained my Ph.D. at the European University Institute (EUI, Florence) and my main research interests span from the general theory and measurement of well-being to the statics and dynamics of the income distribution, poverty, inequality, the intergenerational transmission of opportunities, gender discrimination in the labour market and fiscal + social policy evaluation using microsimulation techniques such as EUROMOD

I am a member of the research group on inequality and poverty EQUALITAS, main researcher in WEIPO (Well-being, inEquality, Poverty and public pOlicy group) and external resercher at ECOSOT. Since 2021, I am Editor in Chief of the journal Applied Economics Analysis, member of the Board of the European Network for Social Policy Analysis (ESPANET), member of the Counselling Committee of the Spanish Autoridad Independiente de Responsabilidad Fiscal (AIReF), member of the Counselling Commitee of the Spanish Secretaría General de Objetivos y Políticas de Inclusión y Previsión Social (Ministerio de Inclusión, Seguridad Social y Migraciones) and member of the Counselling Commitee on Economic Affairs of the Spanish Ministerio de Economía, Comercio y Empresa. I am Senior Fellow of the Future Policy Lab and have contributed with a chapter on "Cinco décadas de desigualdad en España" in a recently published book on inequality in Spain "La desigualdad en España".

I am currently the Director of the Master de Análisis Económico Aplicado (MAEA, Applied Economics Master Program, Universidad de Alcalá) where I teach a course on "Economics of Well-being, Inequality and Poverty".
