Edie (she/her) is the award-winning Founder and Executive Director of We Are Artistic and a college student at Salisbury University studying elementary education with a minor in special education. She is also neurodivergent and chronically ill. loves to advocate for those with disabilities. Edie also babysits for families in the DMV area. Edie enjoys getting to create inclusive spaces, and hopes to become a special education teacher in DC. She is also a community organizer who loves bringing people together and volunteers with many nonprofits and causes outside of We Are Artistic. 

Bettina is a Senior Human Resources professional with international experience leading people initiatives in multicultural environments. Her expertise includes HR Business Partnering, Talent Management, Learning & Development, Organizational Development, Employee Relations, and leadership development.  Throughout her career, she has supported organizations through periods of growth and transformation by designing HR strategies that strengthen organizational culture, develop leaders, and enhance employee engagement. She enjoys collaborating with cross-cultural teams and creating environments where people can grow, contribute, and succeed.  As Human Resources Director at We Are Artistic, Bettina is committed to fostering an inclusive and welcoming volunteer experience, and helping build a collaborative community where creativity and purpose come together.

Klara (she/her) is a human resources professional who is passionate about creating inclusive, supportive workplaces where people feel valued and empowered to succeed. She has experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, onboarding, performance management, policy development, and fostering positive workplace cultures. She enjoys helping individuals grow while supporting organizations in building equitable and people-centered environments. Outside of her professional work, she is committed to giving back through community service and is proud to support We Are Artistic's mission of creating inclusive spaces where creativity and every individual can thrive.

Development Director 

Huckle is the Developmental Director for WAA. Huckle is extremely passionate about art advocacy, inclusive creativity and supporting youth and community involvement and empowering opportunity’s for WAA to grow, improve and thrive. Huckle is committed to creating fundraising opportunities, community outreach, clear communication and networking and helping build relationships by finding and improving grants for WAA by building strategies, writing proposals, and coordinating events to expand community impact, while also running the developmental department for WAA. Huckle has experience with working with other non profits such as SchoolTalk and benefitting their programs like Arts2Advocacy and his contributions within the Special Olympics Organization. Huckle is very proud to be apart of WAA and to support We Are Artistic’s mission by helping grow  WAA in every way possible.

In Person Event Director

Morgan is an Event Professional currently working for an educational company. After growing up in community theatre, she pursued a BFA in Stage Management. She now uses her skills to whimsy mundane paperwork and build connections with everyone she meets. In her free time, she’s either curled up with a book, crying over how cute her cat is, or marking off another place from her vacation bucket list.  

Assistant In Person Event Director

Fadilah is a longtime volunteer. She has planned and executed many tabling events for We Are Artistic. She loves bringing people together. 

Aastha is a Canadian high school student, Director of Virtual Events, and Communications & Creative Media Intern at We Are Artistic. She leads the planning and execution of virtual events from start to finish, ensuring each event is engaging and successful. As an intern, she continues to grow as an artist by exploring a variety of visual art styles under the guidance of experienced mentors, with a special passion for painting. Aastha is dedicated to spreading the message that everyone has an artist within them and inspiring others to keep their creativity alive.

Alyssa Pendon is a student in highschool based in the Chicagoland area. She's interested in marketing, mental health, and empowering others. Alyssa loves connecting with other people but also helping others! Alyssa is so excited to be on the We Are Artistic team and wants to empower as many people as she can. 

Creativity Director

Kai is a passionate multimedia artist, specializing in character design for animation. Though, much more importantly, he is a service leader, collaborating to connect all kinds of artists and artworks throughout the world. Can’t wait to see what you’ll bring to the table!

Film Director

Erin is a graduate of Dodge College of Film and Media Arts, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in playwriting and screenwriting. She loves the arts, actively participating in various projects and assisting youth in film production.

Odinaka is the Community Service Lead at We Are Artistic. She is passionate about community engagement and helping students access meaningful volunteer opportunities. In her role, she supports the community service program by assisting students with service hour verification, building partnerships with school districts, and helping expand opportunities for students to make a positive impact through volunteering.

Olivia is a communications professional passionate about using strategic communication to strengthen communities and contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive society. As a Community Service Assistant at We Are Artistic, she communicates the organization’s mission and value to schools, assists students with volunteer-related inquiries, and supports the team’s community outreach and business development efforts.

Nicole is a human resources professional that cares about blending inclusive practices into her work. She is also a passionate book lover and owner of Biblio Bunnies LLC. She is excited to start We Are Artistic's first book club.

Katie (she/her) is a civic education professional who is passionate about youth empowerment and engagement. She has experience in curriculum design and facilitating discussions about a wide range of issues. One of her favorite jobs was as a counselor at a summer camp for people with developmental disabilities, and has remained dedicated to cultivating spaces that are inclusive, accessible, and equitable. She loves reading, getting book recommendations from friends and family, and thinks the best compliment is when someone tells you they loved the book you recommended.
