Napoleon's Russian Campaign Mod Files
Goal of the Mod
----------------
1) The base game has an older black and white leaders file. This provides a color version of this.
- Most Corps/Division/Brigade French portraits are available on the internet, so this should be pretty accurate.
- Fortunately there are also a ton of excellent Russian leader images available on the internet from period paintings.
2) Add Regimental/Battalion Flags for most units.
Notes:
French side: Many of the French infantry regiments have 4 and 5 battalions deployed in the field. In this campaign the French 1812 colors were only carried by the 1st battalion, so you'll only see that referenced on 1st battalions. The 2nd through 5th battalions carried fanions, so I've given those units the appropriate colors. (2nd (White), 3rd (Red), 4th (Blue), and 5th (Green))
French Allies: I've tried to utilize the proper battalion flags based on various sources across the web.
Russian side: This is challenging, considering the various styles of 1797 and 1803 flags, and the varying times that these colors actually ended up with the regiments. I've done my best to consult various sources and apply the appropriate colors to each battalion in each regiment.
3) I've tried to get the color patterns correct on most of the Cavalry units
4) This follows a VERY similar design pattern to "EZJax" mods available on Napoleonic Games Club site.
What this Includes:
------------------
1) Updated Unit Graphics slightly compared to the base install. This has Regimental/Battalion flags included within the artwork. OOBs are updated to make this work with the new images on the Units File
2) Updated leader images. In some cases, the OOB mapping needed to change in order to prevent repeats.
3) Credit where credit is due: I borrowed images for the right hand side of the UnitBox from an older "EZJax" mod available on the Napoleonic Games Club site. This keeps things a little more balanced looking without a big open space on the right.
What this Mod doesn't include
------------------------------
1) I've tried very hard to not change any of the unit or leader quality ratings, or any of the size of the units from the latest WDS version.
This game is a monster, so its very possible I've had some typos along the way or other mistakes.
As always, suggestions or fixes can be put in place.
*** Don't Forget to back up your original game files ***
You will need to overwrite files in the "Info" and "OOBs" folders
